Hey y’all !! . . Here we go:
∎ Ⅰ. — “Did your character ever have a first love or relationship?”
Short answer? Yes. Yes, she has. But this is one of those questions that I can’t really answer fully. Also, even if I did, Juniper would give off major “don’t you dare pity me” energy. Clue of the story is: she don’t believe (or dare to) in love anymore.
∎ 2. — “What is your character’s music taste, and what songs did she play on repeat?”
Some examples are (pre-en post-apocalypse):
“Amor Eterno” – Rocío Dúrcal (for her loved ones who passed away, especially her parents)
“Tú sí sabes quererme” – Natalia Lafourcade (reminds her how love felt pre-apocalypse, her theme-song for love)
“La Llorona” – Chavela Vargas (It’s not just about loss—it’s about the persistence of love even when it hurts, the way sorrow becomes part of life and identity.)
“Tequila Sunrise” – Eagles (living in survival-mode and numbing pain)
“Me Gustas Tú” – Manu Chao (it’s a classic)
(Wordt nog aangevuld. Er zijn te veel opties.)
∎ 3. — “How would your character react if their “favorite person” in the group got bitten on the road?”
Wellllllll, considering who it is specifically (because she has multiple persons who are dear to her), her general reaction would be to freeze, at first. She doesn’t want them to suffer, but at the same time she’d get triggered and therefore get completely quiet. This would break her in a way she didn’t know she could break again.
Then, after she realized what happened? Absolute rage and denial. Juniper would explode — cursing, shouting, maybe even threatening whoever caused it. She’d refuse to accept it, and refuse to leave them behind. Let’s say it’s Benjamin who got bitten, to make an easier example : She’d yell at him, slap him, then cling to him while telling him he’s not allowed to die. Might even whisper: “I told you not to leave me, pendejo.” And if she really loved that person (I’m thinking ███), then she would probably insist on staying with him until the end, even if it meant her own death.
∎ 4. — “What’s an instant turn-off for your character?”
Macho men—(‘if you start flexing your muscles or talking about how you’d “protect me”, I’ll stick a knife in your gut’.) She’s had a lifetime of being talked over, underestimated, and treated like something ornamental.
Excessive dependency or emotional manipulation.
(Gotta run. Maak 't later af. TBC.)
