Much to his disapproval, Leya rather stayed behind to watch some childish fistfight than come along with him. Obviously he didn’t stop her, as the girl had her own free will and would most likely eat him alive if he tried, but it still bugged him. However, he wasn’t about to give her any snacks for it. If Leya wanted to watch drama unfold, Leya could also get her own snacks. “Hell nah, I’m not your slave,” he told her, dismissing her demands. Gabrièl spared a few glances at two of his guy friends fighting, before he paid attention to Leya and Lola again.
“Well, they are rather stupid for fighting in the middle of a crowded courtyard, so what did you expect Ley? That they could have a full blown brawl?” Gabrièl told his friend. He shook his head softly. His friend did love other people’s drama too much. He focused himself on Lola, who had just kissed his cheek as their way of greeting. Gabrièl smiled softly. It was one of few traditions he adored having. Lola was one of few girls he allowed touching him that way. “Do I want to know what you need to discuss with me?” he asked her, rather suspicious.
He waved Leya, who was now running off to some other friend of hers, goodbye. Whatever Lola was about to tell him was far more important. Gabrièl had no clue what the news could be, but from the serious tone in her voice, it wasn’t positive. The gut feeling in his stomach strengthened when Lola took his hand and dragged him along to an even more secluded spot. Gabrièl felt himself getting rather worried, a feeling unfamiliar to him. “Lola, what’s up?” he asked her softly, though she flooded out all the words soon after.
Gabrièl was surprised to hear of her plans. Obviously he knew Metanoia had never been her favourite place, it wasn’t his either, but he didn’t expect her to actually leave. Or rather disappear for an undisclosed amount of time. “You’re kidding,” he said, feeling rather hurt, as well as disappointed. He wasn’t accustomed to people leaving him. He wasn’t supposed to be the one left behind, rather the one leaving. Gabrièl looked down at the journal being pushed into his hands. Gabrièl’s eyebrow raised up in question. This was something he had never seen before.
Gabrièl didn’t bother asking what it was, figuring Lola would explain. A small, sly grin appeared on his face as his closest friend opened the pages of the journal, seeing a drawing of a naked Luca on the page. “Do I want to know…?” he asked her, his smile widening. “Oh darling dearest, your last wish shall be granted. Even if I am furious with you.” His hand softly moved over the comic drawn next to a naked Luca. Gabrièl had always known of her talent, but this was new information to him. His mind started thinking about all the chaos he could cause with this, almost forgetting the reason why he got it.
He stood still as Lola gave her goodbyes with a necklace and a kiss to his lips. A sudden, overwhelming sense of sadness flooded his body. Not enough to tear him up, as demons didn’t cry, but definitely enough to make him feel unsettled. Gabrièl didn’t like Lola having to leave. Not at all. “Goodbye,” he told her, a sad smile on his face, watching her walk away without giving him one last look. Of course she didn’t. Demons weren’t sentimental beings, like those weak angels. His hands he wrapped around the gifted necklace, before moving it behind his shirt.
Gabrièl cleared his throat, stuffed the journal in one of many pockets, pulled himself back together and turned around to join the crowd again. His head scanned every individual, until they halted at the sight of Lara, his darling devil turned angel. Last night they had spent together, one of many recently. While Gabrièl didn’t exactly feel anything for the girl, he could tell Lara did for him. Something he, obviously, used to his advantage. Poor, gullible angels. Unfortunately, she was occupied. While Gabrièl adored Evelynn, he wasn’t in the mood for more girls, so he decided to look for someone else.
A smile appeared on Gabrièl’s face when he spotted Elias, hiding in a corner, away from the teachers. Definitely trying not to gather anyone’s attention. The sight of a person having done something he shouldn’t. With big, calculated steps, Gabrièl walked towards the guy. Elias was one of many guys he frequented parties with. A friend too, perhaps, but nothing more complicated than that. However, it was all Gabrièl needed right now, after the painful news of Lola’s departure.
”Mate, you look like you have broken some rules,” Gabrièl told him once he was nearby. He gave Elias a clap on his shoulder, before moving to stand next to him. He moved his gaze over the crowd. By now quiet and peace had once again settled over them, all troublemakers either having been pulled apart or having ended their dispute. How totally tedious. Gabrièl looked back at Elias again. “But so tell me, what have you done last night that causes you to hide in a corner now?” He grinned softly, wanting to know all about them. Not to use it against Elias later, though perhaps Gabrièl would if he so needed in the future. But for now, he considered the doubter his friend.
”Don’t you think all of this is rather boring, too? Also mate, you look like you haven’t slept in weeks. How about we grab a coffee first and then talk a little? That is, until we finally can get to our rooms, of course,” Gabrièl suggested, one eyebrow raising up in a question again. Though, even if Elias said no, he would still get one himself.
Hij staat eindelijk, YAS!
Laten we wel even het achterlijke tijdstip negeren, dat is fake news
