Helias was born to a knight of the de Beaumanoir family who'd moved to Paris. His mother had Greek roots, which explains the strange spelling of his name for the area. After he turned, he gave up his original surname. There is no one left who knows that he ever even owned it.
At the end of the 14th century, he adopted the surname Vanparys, which was given to him by the Dutchmen he hung out with in the Netherlands due to his French accent. Even today, there are people who, behind his back, mockingly call him 'the Parisian' or 'the Frenchman', because of his tendency to spend his time anywhere but in France. In any case, in the following centuries, the name Helias Vanparys has gained notoriety. It's become a name that either evokes scoffs and sneers, or awe and terror.

Helias was born somewhere in January 1182, which currently makes him 451. Throughout the centuries, he's lost track of his actual birthday, as well as the age at which he died. It could've been anywhere between nineteen and twenty-seven. When someone asks him, he usually answers with a random number somewhere within that range. Sometimes he purposefully makes himself seem younger than he is; sometimes the other way around.

Helias got his throat and wrists slit and was turned by T. Magen, the notorious leader of the First Colony back in Europe. Though Helias never really denies that Magen is his Paramount, there are still rumours that Helias himself originally was T. Magen. Even his own Subjects don't really know what the truth is - since most of them died when Helias' Paramount actually showed up three-ish centuries ago alongside him. The ones that did get out alive (and there aren't many), know that Helias' Paramount is a little runt of a teenager who can't keep his mouth shut, that the two of them bicker endlessly, and that they always seem to be on the verge of a war.
Helias currently has only five living Subjects: Renata Castiglione and Adrian Vynall, who weren't there when all the others got murdered; Katherine Vasileiou, who helped murder the others; Manuelle, who got away; and Terrence Abernathy, a man he's only turned about fifteen years ago.

maybe he's born with it, maybe it's trust issues! ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Anyone who's ever met Helias immediately thinks the two same thoughts: "Who the fuck does this man think he is?"; and "Can I punch him in the face?". He's provocative in a very stoic way and rarely ever loses his cool. On one hand, his 'holier-than-thou' attitude stems from arrogance. On the other hand, it stems from self-preservation. Faced with the promise of a fight he can't win (which, in his opinion, are rare), Helias will always choose to save his own skin and run away rather than engaging in a fight.
Because of his stoic attitude and general trust issues, Helias makes for a tough guy to manipulate. He's skeptical and rarely believes any stories before he's seen proof himself. Besides that, he has ridiculously high standards and is rarely impressed when those get met by people who work with or for him. When those standards are however not met, or when he suspects you might be double-crossing him, his usual eternal patience is hard to find.
In Helias' eyes; you're either with him or against him, and when you're against him, you better run.

he will lie your pants off! ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
One of the biggest reasons Helias hates being double-crossed or manipulated, is the fact that he just can't handle anyone outdoing him. It's taken him centuries of practice to hone his skill to what it is today.
Helias is basically constantly strategising. His brain does not stand still - even if he would sometimes like it to. The only reason he tends to get to know a person, is to figure out what makes them tick and how he can use it to his advantage. If someone seems of interest to him, he'll find a way to make them indebted to him, and collect that debt when he needs it.

    P E T T Y      A N D      C R U E L

    human after all? ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Double-crossing Helias means certain doom. It's, in a sense, his greatest weakness. People, to him, are expendable, and when he figures you're no longer of use to him, you might as well just go die in a pit. He doesn't really care. Or does he? The secret is; Helias is so wrapped up in his trust-issues that he doesn't even see them as a problem anymore. He doesn't often trust people, will do anything he can not to have to trust anyone and be able to figure stuff out by himself. The problem is that he's no longer in a position where he can afford to do everything by himself - he needs to delegate tasks. His circle of trustees is small, and though he will never admit it, betraying that trust will hurt him to a point where getting rid of the problem is just the best idea.
While Helias may seem heartless, the opposite is true. Beneath his rudeness, beneath that hard outer shell is a dreamer, capable of caring a great deal about people. The very fact that he's trying to build a safe haven for people like him, is a testament to that. The only problem is he'll surpress any true feeling he has about it, make himself believe it was never there in the first place. Emotion is only something that can distract him from his goals.

a pain in your ass. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Helias Vanparys is a sarcastic, arrogant little shit - as any Hunter who's ever come into contact with him will tell you. He enjoys his reputation, revels in the reactions it provokes, often seeming like he believes himself to be untouchable. He knows he's not, but he takes great care in making damn sure he can get as close to it as possible.
Though sometimes it seems like he just wants power, like he just wants to rule the world and have vampirekind take over, it's not necessarily that. He wants to build a safe haven, build something stronger than what he'd attempted back in Europe. And, above all, he wants to prove to his Paramount that banishing him was a mistake.

Helias seems like a normal, polite, rich gentleman who doesn't really seem like much of a threat. Handsome, fashionable, well put-together, not a single blond strand of hair out of place. He only looks as scary as his reputation when he glares and the poison in the green of his eyes starts leaking out, or when he's covered in blood, but neither happens in public very often. Sometimes he can also look intimidating when he's focusing on a book he's reading, but that's not something he does on purpose.
Helias died by bleeding out from a cut across his throat and vertical lacerations on both wrists. Those scars are still visible today, even if they have faded quite a bit. They're not something he hides and neither are they things he wears proudly; they're just there. Besides those scars, there's quite some laceration marks on his back from before he died; the result of his father's abuse when he was younger. He doesn't talk about them.

    𝔓𝔬𝔴𝔢𝔯𝔰 𝔞𝔫𝔡 𝔰𝔨𝔦𝔩𝔩𝔰

Helias is by far the most prolific telepath who's ever existed; the only other vampire who comes close being T. Magen. He's taken great care in experimenting on Subjects in the past decades and is fairly certain there are no more secrets left to learn when it comes to telepathic bonds among vampires. When he still travelled Europe with his merry band of Subjects, he'd managed to facilitate a sort of hivemind by opening up part of his own mind to all of his Subjects, for them to use to talk to him and to each other. He taught all of them how to steel their own consciousness against attacks, but in the end, would always be able to overpower them. He's a skilled fighter - both mentally and physically - has an almost eery control over his own body (and that of others) and has mastered the art of teleportation almost as well as his own Paramount, who coincidentally is the only other person who's ever bested him in a fight. In his whole life, he's only ever experienced thymos twice; right after he turned, and when he met his Para.

    1182

On a dark, stormy January evening, Helias was born the first son of Sir Louis de Beaumanoir and his wife Alexandra. His father and paternal family were part of Paris' aristocracy, but when Louis decided to marry Alexandra, the daughter of lowish-status Greek immigrants, he became the black sheep of the family. "But father, I love her!" Louis would exclaim. His father did not give a shit, and Louis came to have many regrets when Helias, who looked nothing at all like him but very much like the miller's son just on the edge of the city, was born. It was the start of an unhappy childhood.

    1186

When Helias was four and unloved, his little brother Atlas was born. Atlas was the pride and joy of the family - proof that Alexandra did truly love her husband and did not have to be shipped back to Greece. It didn't fix Louis' ties to his own family, nor did it better his relationship with his firstborn son, but he did, sort of, become a little happier. In any case, he yelled less at Helias, who was content to spend the time he was ignored drawing cute little pictures for his mother. Despite the lack of love for his eldest, Louis did take care to make sure Helias had a decent education. He learned to read and write, played music from a young age, but started to stray (according to Louis) when he started showing interest for ancient philosophy when he was about eighteen. To Louis horror, Helias turned out not to be the kind of young adult who enjoyed shutting up. And, even worse, he was not a devout christian. He was a critical thinker, a scholar, an artist - a heretic. And a stubborn one at that. Louis' honourable reputation plummeted, because having a bastard son wasn't bad enough - he also had to be a pagan. The abuse started and didn't end until Louis ended up dead in a puddle of his own blood.

    Somewhere around the 1210's-1220's

On a dark and stormy winter night, not unlike the evening of Helias' birthday, a blind beggar showed up at the de Beaumanoirs' house. Alexandra, kind as she was, opened the door for him, and let him stay the night. The blind beggar wasn't what he pretended to be, though; he was not a weak, unfortunate teenager, even if he was poor and homeless at the time. He was, though not yet (not really), one of the most powerful vampires the world would ever see. Helias didn't know though, and he had no idea what was happening when he woke choking on his own blood in the middle of the night, only to see the blind beggar standing over him with a bloody knife. The next moment he was standing over the corpse of his little brother, his parents a little further back in the house.
The next months are a blur of burnt skin, stolen food and miserably lying in the Parisian gutter. Helias probably would've died again if Hermes hadn't found him. Hermes, an old, legendary vampire who goes by many names but stuck to Hermes for his tendency to help out lost travelers, literally fished Helias out of the gutter, taught him the basics of vampiric life and became somewhat of a brother to him. When Hermes leaves without a trace, a couple of years later, Helias feels betrayed, starts a murder spree and gets chased to the Holy Roman Empire, where he eventually starts the search for his Paramount, whom he finds in the little town of Dubhaile. Pissed off because his Paramount turns out to be a measly, half-blind sixteen year-old, Helias has his second and last thymos, and decides to annoy the brat till his dying breath.

    End of the 13th century

Despite the rocky start of their relationship, Helias and his Paramount somewhat become allies. Not friends. Never friends. They enjoy torturing and insulting each other too much for that. But there does seem to be somewhat of a foundation of trust, and it is thanks to Helias that T. Magen is able to negotiate the Second Concordat that kickstarts the First Colony. Helias remains his trusted advisor and even takes on the leading mantle for a while when the teenager himself grows bored of the duty. He solidifies the Colonies influence in the British Isles and part of France, but when Helias grows too ambitious - his Paramount turns on him.

    1378

Helias has gained too much influence in his Paramount's eyes, and the latter grows paranoid that the former might be out to take his place for good. It prompts a fight between the two that nearly levels Dubhaile Castle; Helias defending his pride, T. Magen making sure he still knows his place. Helias gets kicked out of the First Colony and out of Dubhaile, with nothing but a debillitating headache to thank him for his efforts.

    1380

His pride wounded, Helias goes on a rampage for a year or two, until he ends up in Pavia, where he devotes himself to use his immortality to learn something new. He'd already been on his way to become a physician when he was mortal, so it seemed like a good idea to brush up on it at Pavia's university. Trouble doesn't stay fare, though, as is the fate of any vampire. Helias soon gets a little too much attention from his dear teacher's wife, Renata, after that teacher wakes him up in the middle of the night to help that wife give birth to a son. An affair may or may not have taken place, and four years later, when Renata has already figured him out and is about to die during another childbirth, he for some reason takes pity on her and saves her life by turning her. He leaves her behind, leaves Pavia and decides to explore the rest of Italy, scouring libraries to gather all kinds of knowledge, because it only now really starts to dawn on him that he has the rest of eternity to learn.

    1390

At some point, Helias finds himself in the Netherlands, where Colony power is dwindling by powerhungry Community Hunters. Despite technically being a rogue, he steps in and solidifies politic ties in the area, driving back the Hunters and even expanding Colony territory. Renata rejoins him, aiding his cause and helping him find allies. He gains more Subjects and, convinced his Paramount won't be able to do it nearly as well as he can, starts up a plan to expand the Colony in Europe.

    1484

It doesn't go by unnoticed, and soon his Paramount joins him again for nearly a decade. Despite their differences, it's clear that they still make a powerful team, gaining allies all over the Netherlands and part of Germany, where they forge ties with Community Hunters and give more power to Colony vampires.

    1492

Their job done, Helias' Paramount returns to Dubhaile, and Helias and his Subjects travel onwards to the south of Europe. They find themselves in Greece, where Helias convinces himself he's mostly there to bring some order to the chaos that is the political ties between vampires and Hunters - and not because he suddenly has the urge to find out more about his mother's family.

    1495

In Greece, where Community reign is hard and forceful, and a Colony chapter is starting to rebel, he quickly climbs his way up the social ladder and finds a way in with the royal family. Without being aware of it, the royal family has already been infiltrated by Community Hunters - and they are also not aware of the fact that Hunters and vampires are basically waging a silent war in the middle of their court. When Helias sees potential and, mostly, opportunity in princess Katherine and becomes involved with her, Hunters manage to convince other courtisans that Katherine has to die. A stupid mistake - because Helias has also forged ties with those specific courtisans. Aware of their plan, he watches her die and decides to turn her into a vampire, sure that she will kill her own tormentors in the following thymos.
Ultimately, Helias' plan succeeds, and almost causes the downfall of the Greek Community. In the following seven years, he and Katherina solidify Colony reign in Greece, and when the work is done and he leaves again, she stays in her home country, ready to unleash her rage on the rest of Europe.

    1502

Though he leaves Katherina behind, he doesn't leave Greece just yet, his curiosity too high not to figure out what happened to his mother's remaining family. Unfortunately, research doesn't turn up much, so he and his other Subjects leave Greece anyway and travels back to the British Isles, despite technically being banished. It doesn't really matter though; Helias is too stubborn to stay gone, to not use his power and influence to do something about the quickly declining political power of the Colony in Ireland.

    1600

It takes nearly a century of scuffles, full-blown battles and many, many mortal casualties before the Irish Amendment to the Concordat is established - and it does not go by unnoticed that things only start going well for the Colony's side when a certain, annoying seventeen-year-old brat shows up right before the start of the 1590's.
This time, it's Helias' paranoia that takes the upper hand. He feels sidelined, overlooked - and, though he will never admit it, jealous of his Paramount. He feels conspired again, feels the loyalty of his Subjects dwindle. When his Paramount leaves and some of his Subjects are about to follow him, Helias snaps. Katherine, who rejoined them about a year earlier, is one of his only Subjects who survives his rage - Renata having left years earlier, and two of his other Subjects having escaped. Though he breaks her trust, she sticks by him, helps him catch the stragglers who failed to get away in time, helps him get rid of the Hunters who follow them in the wake of his destruction.

    1606

Killing most of his Subjects and former allies does little to calm Helias' increasing unrest. He feels hurt, doesn't want to admit it, and doesn't have anything to keep him busy in the years that follow - except when word of a new continent gets out and he sees an opportunity to build his own kingdom. He and Katherine board the British Company's ship in the hopes of finding a new place in America, where they find allies in humans als well as other vampires who were hoping to find a safe haven away from Community oppression.

    1620

It goes well for him for some time. They build a settlement in Greenstone; more vampires join their cause; some humans and werewolves find them and they exist alongside each other in relative harmony and freedom. Until the Community arrives and decide that, no, monsters don't get to be free.

Whilst the Hunter is known as Misha around town, as that is the name he introduces himself with, is it only his nickname. In his family it is very common to call everyone by their nickname, which Misha has adopted and brought over to America as his given name. Officially his name is Mikhail Sergei Nikolaev syn Andrei Vasilyev, named after the patronymics of his father and being one of the more modern families to also have a surname. Though he usually skips the patronymics as those complicate the whole matter unnecessarily. His family often calls him Serezhko, a nickname based on his birth name Sergei instead of his baptised name Mikhail, but that is a name Misha has not heard after moving to Greenstone.

Misha is one of a grand total of five Russian Hunters that currently reside in Greenstone and the only Vasilyev among the group of allied families. This makes him by proxy the leader of the Russian delegation, though they are under jurisdiction of the Ackerman family as this is their land. Since his group is still very small, Misha doesn't hold a large leading position and most decisions are made as a collective. It does mean that he bears responsibility over the others and is the first point of contact when a Russian delegation is needed for something. He is part of the Community.

The first thing that one can notice about Misha is his almost perpetual scowl he wears on his face. The Hunter almost never seems to smile, regardless of the topic he is engaging in. This is accentuated by the heavy brow line and his inset, smaller eyes, giving his eyes a natural shadow. His irises are a light green color with a dark rim around them. His hair is a lighter brown color, though it is starting to grey near his temples and is usually kept at a easily manageable length that wouldn't get in his eyes. Just like his beard he tries to keep his hair well kept. This almost angry-face is paired with a fairly large and heavy set body and his skin has a natural tan. His muscles are well defined due to years and years of diligent training as well as hard physical labor in the forge. Misha's hands are large and rough, holding hard callouses and scarred by various burn marks. His clothing style is practical, but neat. He takes great care of both his personal belongings as well as his appearance, using luxury items when available to make everything last as long as possible. When he is not wearing thick layers or clothes at all, a stick-n-poke tattoo can be seen on his left shoulder blade, vaguely visible underneath a thin white tunic. Though Mikhail doesn't often show it of and it is mostly covered so not many will know he has one at all. It shows his family crest and the text "Единство" which means unity. Misha's voice matches his scowl, harsh with a thick Russian accent.

    calm and collected."

    Personality

Mikhail is decidedly not an easy person to talk to, especially not when you're seen as a stranger to him. This is mostly due to his own poor understanding of the common language, though his general attitude can be quite off putting if you're not used to it. His thick Russian accent makes that his sentences often sound weird and short, as Misha is not comfortable with long dialogues, and he can use badly translated idioms and expressions, not knowing the right way to say something. This makes him often come across as inexpressive and paired with his generally angry facial expression and large body does he not look or act like the teddybear-hug-type.

Besides his poor language skills, is his lack of outward emotions due to his stoic nature. The Hunter does not engage with chaos often and as he does, he will be the calm, collected one who uses rationality to come with the best solution for the largest collective. Even in the face of danger or anguish does he stay calm, not relying on emotions or feelings, but on his years of practice. He will make difficult decisions with what looks like ease, acting resolute on the best possible answer without hesitation, knowing his first decision was made with diligence.

This diligence is seen throughout all of Misha's life. From his normal routines to his blacksmith work. He takes great care and pride in his work and makes sure he and his belongings are kept in peak condition. His training is thorough and you will see him up at the same time every day to complete it before starting work. This discipline is rooted in deep traditions, instilled into him since birth as is expected from the Vasilyev family. In his job he is a perfectionist, only settling for the best he can make and never cutting corners. Even on a tight production schedule, Misha will work overtime to finish it to his standards. Even his idea-generation for new weapons or techniques is based on time spend purposefully thinking about it and trying instead of more free-spirited approaches.

His generally distant demeanor shifts when he is around family, or anyone he considers family. From a young age the idea that family is everything has been drilled into Mikhail's head. This makes him extremely loyal to those he considers as such. Misha only opens up around those close to him, speaking more openly and even trying to make jokes, even though they often land flat due to the language barrier. Those that not know Misha very well can be put off when they see him actually smile if they catch him off guard, though he quickly restrains himself when an outsider joins and he is not in the sole company of his family anymore.

Died in a hunting accident at 20
Misha is more of a craftsman than a fighter, it is not that he doesn't know how to fight or that he doesn't like it. On the contrary, he is a good fighter, well versed in a variety of weapons with the discipline of daily training to back it up. It is just that he likes being a craftsman more, or at least that is what he tells everyone who asks.

As a Vasilyev there was no doupht that he woul be a hunter, causing him to be thrown into some form of training from the moment he could properly walk and start his official hunter training at six. His hunter training was supplemented from an early age with crafting in various forms, having both a tradition and a family-reputation to uphold. It became clear very quickly that Misha had a knack for the family business, resulting in more focus on that aspect during the years of his schooling. Though his hunter training was not neglected, his daily training just increased. This made Misha well versed in a variety of weapons as well as multiple crafting materials.

When he was twelve he got paired with his younger brother, Ilya, both interested in crafting though Mikhail did generally more of the big physical work whilst Ilya focused more on the drawings and the details. They were a great team during training which continued into the field. Crafting weapons and learning better and more advanced weapon secrets as a day-job and go hunting to help out the family when needed.

This partnership lasted three years after graduation, ending in a hunting accident that left Mikhail alone at the age of twenty-two. This shifted his priorities drastically. Misha stopped hunting all together, though he never stopped training for it, and focused all his time on his work. Besides the large scale weapon manufacturing such as smithing and woodworking, he started to get into drawing and detail work, expanding his skill-set to that of a well-rounded weapon manufacturer instead of part of a team. This is also the time he learned how to build guns, getting into all the intricate details and spending all his time on getting everything perfectly. Whilst it produced beautiful weapons once he got the hang of it, it may not have been the best coping mechanism for everything going on.

After a winter of crafting, his father came with a proposal to the family. Vasilyev needed to expand their territory to the new land the Ackermans had started colonizing. Misha volunteered immediately, currently flying solo with a vast knowledge of weapons and their manufacturing processes, he was the easiest to ship to a new continent. Accompanied by two partner couples from allied families, Misha packed up his life and made the trek to the port where he set off to the New World when the weather had cleared up in the Spring.

10 Weeks they had sailed, in which Misha had tried to learn enough English to get by, though it became clear very quickly that his talents for crafting and hunting did not expand to languages whatsoever. Barely understanding basic sentences and having just enough vocabulary to express what he wanted, the Rus came to land and was immediately lead to the leader of the Hunters in Greenstone. Delivering the letter his father had entrusted him with to the Ackermans, after which he was free to recover from the journey.

His first couple of days Misha used to recover from the journey and getting used to the new time and routines. That was until he got summoned by the head of the Ackerman family. Apparently it had been decided that he needed a new partner, he didn't understand why, but he was not going to question the head of his new family. After the short conversation, he was lead to the training-grounds to meet Reed. Misha's first impression of his new partner was that of a loud and disrespectful boy around his age and he didn't even need to understand a word Reed said to get this impression. Though a short hand-to-hand fight engaged by Misha revealed Reed to at least be a competent fighter.

Misha quickly got settled and back to training and working as he got established both within the group of craftsmen that were already working in Greenstone as well as the leader of the Russian delegation as he held the highest rank within the Russian families. His new partner turned out the be the handful Misha expected him to be, but he had experience reigning in a younger brother so it was nothing the Rus couldn't handle. Though it was a bit of a surprise to learn that Reed was in fact slightly older than himself.

The years that followed were definitely some slower years for Misha. He focused a lot on his work as a weaponsmith, both building and designing and quickly became an integral part of the workshop on Ackerman's land in Hillside. After talking with the other crafters, Misha improved the efficiency in the workshop by making it resemble the Vasilyev workshop back home and bringing new and improved designs to Greenstone.

Over the years he has become one of the hunters that is seen as a calming presence for the rest. Having dealt with angry-Reed on many an occasion, gave him a bit of a reputation as a problem-solver when it came to hunter squabbles that this skill of his will be asked for regarding other temperamental hunters. Misha is always fine with helping to break up a fight as he can carry most hunters if physical separation is needed and his calm and collected nature can offer a voice of reason when necessary.

Even though the Rus is one of the most structured hunters in Greenstone, barely straying from his normal work or training as even his birthday is seen as just a normal day. There are two days in the year Misha is not or barely functioning. The first of which, he will stay inside his room most of the day, only coming out after the sun has set to sit on the beach drinking. During that day, Misha will barely talk if he says anything at all and his face holds so much rage that it is clear that people should not disturb him. He only allows Reed to stay with him at night, but even that was precarious in the beginning. The first year people tried to get him out of his room when he did not show up at work but after asking a couple times at the door, Misha opened the entrance with so much force it was barley functioning afterwards. His face showing an amount of emotions nobody had ever seen from the Rus as a storm was clearly brewing behind his eyes. Bellowing to the people on the other side to leave him alone before slamming the wooden door in their face. The day after he repaired the door as if nothing happened without any mention of the day prior. These days, only stupid people go ask him something when he is not at work.
The second of which, Misha will come out of his room and actually do work, but his face is clearly showing people to not talk to him. His focus is clearly somewhere else and he tends to get angry at himself quickly, making mistakes more often. This day he will not go hunting unless forced out of absolute necessity, only focusing on work and training.

Misha's main weapon is a one handed hammer-axe. Based in his years and years of smithing practice, he is very precise with the blunt weapon, using the force behind the blunt weapon to stun his opponent before using the sharp side to cleave the opponent. Since the weapon is very top heavy, Misha's fighting style is to keep the weapon in motion at all times during a fight, allowing him to quickly change direction and strike the opponent with a lot of force. The dual sides also give him a versatility that is not easily found in swords, or normal axes or hammers. The weapon can be seen hanging in a ring on his belt most of the time. The sides are reinforced with metal guards and the wooden handle has Cyrillic text carved into it.

As a ranged option, Misha mostly uses a flintlock, either a pistol or a musket though seeing him with a crossbow is not a strange appearance. All have detailed designs with quite a bit of traditional Russian patterns carved into them. Sometimes the ranged weapons he uses are experimental weapons that he is working on and need field testing. Though he has kept his field testing in Greenstone to a minimum and only does it when he is certain it will work, never giving experimental weapons to someone else during actual hunts. Misha tends to have is flintlock pistol with him most of the time, partly because it's good never leave house with a weapon in a monster-infested town and partly to show of the designs and craftsmanship.

Lastly, Misha takes a sword and a dagger with him when he has time to prepare for a hunt, but those are more for backup than to use as a main weapon.

Misha is clearly trained to fight with all weapons, though he does have preferences. Each weapon he uses is made by himself and therefor bears his own maker's mark somewhere on the weapon. Besides weapons, Misha tends to fight with a heavy small-ish shield strapped to his lower arm for extra protection when he has the time to prepare for a hunt.

    ▬▬ʃ

Even more than a hunter, Misha is a craftsman, specifically a weaponsmith. Where he first specialized in blacksmithing and woodworking for handles, is he now more a universalist that knows something about every aspect of weapon making. From swords to guns, Misha has a Vasilyev manufacturing training on it and has Russian books with all the theory as a back-up. He can build you about anything you want with the details you so desire, though Misha does have an opinion about everyone based on their weapon choices and requests and is not afraid to tell you those when you ask for something specific. In his free time he is experimenting with new weapon types such as more advanced gun mechanisms and ammunition types. He is currently trying to improve the firing mechanism of the flintlock pistols.

    Maker's mark
On every item Misha creates, he puts his makers-mark to show he made it. First there is the Vasilyev trademark which is a simplified stamp or engraving of the Vasilyev family crest to indicate it comes from their workshop. Second there is his personal mark to show he is the maker of the particular item which is a М and an И on top of each other divided by a horizontal line, and since Misha is part of the main family, he gets to put it inside the Vasilyev crest instead of underneath.

    Languages
Misha speaks Russian and English, but the last one only because he had to. His languages skills for foreign languages are atrocious and learning English was already difficult enough. This also means he still has trouble with his second language even after three years living with it. His personal notes are always in Russian and his spelling in English is even worse than his heavy accented speaking.

    Traditions
Mikhail is extremely concerned with the original Vasilyev traditions and continues them as much as possible in Greenstone. This also makes his views on society very conservative. He views all werewolves and vampires as inherently monstrous and threatening to the existence of both hunter and human.

    Room
When someone has the privilege of entering his personal room, they can see his passion for weapons across every wall. From the outdated arquebus he had with him to Greenstone to a variety of broken weapons each with Cyrillic notes besides it pointing to various parts of the weapons and multiple sheets of drawings and notes. Though it is very rare to see as Misha is very private and will let almost nobody in his room.

    Religion
Misha is devout Christian, specifically Russian Orthodox and is baptised at age 10. He will go to St. Adrian's Cathedral due to lack of Orthodox service since a different service is better than no service. Though he has some fundamental differences with the religious teachings in Greenstone, but does not address those openly. Misha can often be seen saying prayers in silence before or after certain tasks such as eating, work or hunting.

    Likes
Snow, winter, the woods, the forge, drawing; especially weapons, building weapons, training, traditions

    Dislikes
Hot weather, monsters, English new people, not understanding people, being perceived dumb due to his lack of language skills.

    Just keep working on it.

    Reed Ackerman
After arriving in Greenstone, Misha got paired with Reed as a new Hunter-partner and over the years they have grown to be best friends besides partners. They naturally established various habits such as Misha physically carrying Reed away from fights to the forest to let out steam or their yearly stupid-drunk night at the beach after Misha has been cooped up in his room all day.

    Finn Ackerman
That Misha's relation with Finn is not as good as with Reed might be an understatement. Whilst the Rus has no problem with Finn and sees her as family, Finn clearly has a problem with him. Though he is not surprised as he is now paired with her brother whilst she is not allowed to hunt. Since Finn is inside a lot of the time, they haven't interacted much yet in the month she has been back.
