300 years ago, the entire continent of Fradal nearly fell enslaved to an ancient, evil being of pure power. Some say Eirian was the Primordial Evil, bent on subjugating the world to his bidding. A power-hungry entity that felt nothing other than the inextinguishable desire to rule the masses. They hold Eirian responsible for the bloodbath he created that day in Adrana. They hold him responsible for how the central country of Fradal tumbled down into chaos for fifty long, long years. Some say Eirian was an angel, cast down from the realm of the gods in order to help shape the material world. A being of light, misunderstood by those who searched to shape the world in their own image. They say the royal family of Adrana had it coming; their iron-fist rule over the country seemed to be nothing more than deepening already-existing fissures. The natural, equal order of things was crumbling, and Eirian was the only one who could set it right. It was the king’s son who proved victorious over Eirian and his armies, in the end. Vermin, he called the not-quite-man, as he drove his sword through Eirian’s heart. It took Adrana and its neighbouring countries half a century to recover after the war, but order soon returned when the anti-magic law was passed. Magic wielders had their wings clipped at birth, unable to use their natural gift for the rest of their life. Those who somehow managed to bypass the law, were publicly executed. Peace has reigned over Fradal for two centuries now, but the inequality amongst its people has never been greater. Some are perfectly content with the way things are now, while some are becoming more vocal about change. Some, who never lost track of what had happened 300 years ago, believe that salvation is near. Because, as the story goes, Eirian never truly died. His body turned to dust after the prince stabbed him, and for decades, his followers have spent their lives trying to raise him back to his former glory. |
Fadral is known as the Center of the Earth, the first continent shaped by the Gods. It exists out of five lands: Adrana, Lirithal, Kaelmoor, Umberveil and Aethirra. Each of these lands corresponds with one of the five Founding Gods (Sovralis, God of Valor and Fate; Lunira, Goddess of Nature and Balance; Kaelen, Goddess of Community and Joy; Umbrith, God of Mystery and Strength; Aetheris, God of Elements and Change), and their descendants (the Anthropes, the Celestials, the Little Folk, the Primordials and the Elementals). Click here for a more thorough overview. Adrana lays at the center of Fadral, and rules over its neighbouring countries as well as its own people. It enforces its Anti-Magic Law relentlessly, but change seems to be due soon. The land's social hierarchy is as follows: The Royal Family and their advisers, the Court, the Royal Military, Guild Artisans & Entertainers, the Common Folk (who usually work under one of the Guild Artisans) & Servants. |

Rules to live by - The RPG is set in Vaeloris, the capital of Adrana. You can venture outside of it when necessary, but make sure your character's 'home base' is in Vaeloris, so that you won't end up solo. - The stated roles above are suggestions to give inspiration. - Don't be a bitch. - If neither Halbrand nor Smiths are online when a topic closes, the last person to reply makes a new one and makes us both cohost. - Roles need to be actively intertwined with one another, so we heavily encourage talking about relationships before/during the making of your role. We will ask annoying questions if we notice a character is detached from the storyline. - Ceridwyn, Charilaos and Sotiris are key characters that act as a driving force to the storyline of the RPG. Their actions aren't set in stone and they are influencable, so make sure your character has a relationship with at least one of them. - Reservations last 10 days. When your role is not finished after 10 days and you haven't notified anyone, your spot is removed. - If you are inactive for more than 45 days, your role is removed. We're not sending any reminders, it's your responsibility to remind yourself. - Since Magic is a very broad thing in this RPG, please run your ideas by us if you're not sure if something is possible. - Classes and races need to be balanced. We don't give two shits about gender. - We encourage parallell roleplaying. This means that at any given time, you are allowed to write your character in different situations at different times, so long as you clearly indicate said time above your post and don't skip ahead more than a week. Official timeskips will be indicated, but we're totally cool with people skipping ahead or lingering in the past a little bit longer. Just make sure to communicate it all clearly. |
