(...)He did to Isaac, what Isaacs dad did to Isaac. And I will always remember that
Whut? When? When Derek kicked him out of the house? He tried to protect Isaac by sending him away. He believed that Isaac would get hurt or taken if he stayed around him for much longer, especially after Erica and Boyd were taking, and Erica killed. Derek wants to protect Isaac, he did it for his safety, not to hurt him.
And when did Derek ever treat Isaac like Isaacs dad treated him? Derek never punched him, never hurt him physically, never threw a plate towards Isaac, he never wanted to hurt Isaac, he wanted him to be safe.
Yes, he gave Isaac the bite partly because of power, but also because he was lonely. He had nobody: Scott didn't trust him or wanted to be part of his pack, his family was dead (or so he believed), everybody else who knew about the supernatural either wanted to be part of Scotts little pack or wanted to kill him. He asked Isaac, he told Isaac what would happen and Isaac said 'yes'. Isaac made the decision for him, not Derek, Derek only gave him a choice.
Furthermore, give the guy some slack. His sister is dying in front of his eyes and he doesn't know what to do, he doesn't have a clue. He already lost Erica, his beta, and he was not even around for that one, he just found the body. And Boyd died by his hands, his claws. He didn't want Boyd to die, why would he want that? He was forced to do it and you saw his reaction afterwards. He only had Isaac, Cora and Peter left as part of his pack; he can't really trust Peter because Peter already murdered his sister, Isaac is always somewhere with Scott it appears and Cora, Cora is his baby sister who he didn't know of was still alive. He thought he already lost her once, then he got her back and now he is losing her again. But he promised her he wouldn't leave her side and he doesn't (except that one moment when Jennifer stopped by his loft).
Isaac is blaming him for rolling around with the killer, but how could Derek have known she was the killer? It's not like she has a sign dangling above her head that says: "Darach" or "Performing human sacrifes". It's not that easy to know. Please, nobody knew she was the Darach until that moment when she tried to kill Lydia, nobody knew until then. So Isaac has no reason to shove it on Derek like that. Wasn't Isaac the one who said that Jennifer was "kinda hot"?
Derek never tried to hurt Isaac, never wanted to hurt Isaac like Isaacs dad wanted to. Isaacs dad did it because he wanted to hurt Isaac, because he hated Isaac even though Isaac was his son. Derek never wanted to hurt Isaac, he wanted to help him, save him and protect him. Wasn't it Derek who took him in when Isaac had nobody left? Wasn't it Derek who gave Isaac the confidence he has now? Wasn't it Derek who gave Isaac the feeling like he was good for something? Wasn't it Derek who kind of made Isaac into the person you love so much right now?
Yes, I like Isaac, I love him, he's my cute little fluffy puppy, but Derek NEVER hurted him, NEVER wanted to. It's the other way around. Isaac hurted Derek.
Derek just wants to be with his sister. Yes, he doesn't have a clue what he could do to save her (until Peter) but he won't leave her. And what can he do without leaving her? You may think, and say, that Isaac only asks him to do something and not to leave her, but he can't do anything without leaving Cora's side. How can he stop the Alpha pack, stop Jennifer/Julia/Darach, without leaving Cora's side? It's not like he can say: "Goodbye Alpha pack" and they're gone. If he could, he would probably have done that a long time ago.
You can say so many things about Derek, but he never wants to hurt someone intentionally. He was the guy who killed someone, someone he loved, still does, to relieve her pain and make sure she didn't have to suffer any longer. He killed an innocent person and gave up his yellow eyes to help someone. He killed his own uncle, his last living relative to make sure he couldn't hurt anyone else and that there would no longer be any deaths. He still regrets what happened to his relatives, because he blames himself for it, he blames himself after TEN freaking years. Isn't it clear that the guy is hurting like always but that he always does it to help someone else? Isn't it clear that Derek is more then willing to give something up to save someone? He gave up his yellow eyes to relieve someone's pain, he gave up his last living relative -at that moment- to save everybody in Beacon Hills, he gave up his Alpha powers to save Cora with the prospect of it not working or him dying. He is willing to give up his LIFE to save someone.
Doesn't that show you that he could never hurt anyone like Isaacs dad could?
No, I don't believe Derek has hurt Isaac in the way you ment, he never could do it. Cut the guy some slack, he deserves some happiness instead of getting yelled at by one of the few bèta's he has left when his younger sister is dieing.
So, done ranting for now. This turned into a freaking essay while I wanted to go for a short answer but I think it shows pretty well what I think.
