"Leave me alone, Sev." She took one last look at her ex-best-friend and walked in the direction of the castle.
"Lily!" A voice boomed behind her.
"I told you to stay away, Severus!" She reacted. Tears welling up in her eyes.
"Wow, Evans. I didn't think you'd hate me so much, you would insult me with such comparison." James bellowed.
Lily clenched her jaw. "You know better than to taunt me, Potter." She spat. She tried to sound strong but her voice cracked in all the wrong places.
James Potter grabbed Lily's shoulder and turned her around. Shocked to see her crying. Something Lily never did.
"Lils, what happened?"
