okay i wrote down antigone's relationships here but i'll also post them in here once just so it's not overlooked. these are only the people she's already met at any point in time, so any other ideas i've discussed in private haven't been forgotten. still working on lachlan's stuff ^^
oh ja mocht iemand iets qua relatie/vriendschap etc met geoffrey willen hebben gehad let me know, could be interesting too. he's dead and an npc but i worked him out too much now to not open up on that for people who'd want to

non-player characters:
PARENTS | ???
Antigone is the daughter of a fisherman's wife (no name known to her extended family) and a carpenter named John Thomas. She was not raised by either of them. Her father chose her first name, but not her second or third.
John Thomas was a controversial figure among the family Antigone was raised in. He disappeared for long periods of time with little explanation, then dumped a child on their doorstep, and permanently vanished. They don't quite miss him. Antigone has never met him; she only knows him from rumors that imply a certain heartlessness from her father that weighs on her with guilt like it's her own. He was described as intelligent, brooding, temperamental, and utterly unfit among his siblings. Antigone's grandfather died when John was about fourteen years old, and all her live family suspects that this is because John killed him - though there was never a trial for this, and none of his siblings had any evidence, so nothing is certain here. Some of their stories seem to imply that John may have been a werewolf, even though that can also be an exaggeration due to their dislike of him. The stories do all imply very heavily that John was the culprit of the murder, but the werewolf bit seems made up (for some of these implications overlap with general demonic tropes and are therefore not entirely realistic).
CARETAKERS | ALIVE
Her aunt and uncle who raised her. They were abusive and still live in England and are therefore irrelevant. Feel free to read her history for details though.
(Aunt's name is Ruth, uncle's name is Tyler.)
HUSBAND: GEOFFREY D'AUBIGNY LAMB | RECENTLY DECEASED
yes this description is very informally written stfu
There's general information about him under a spoiler simply because I wrote too much.
Geoffrey d'Aubigny was an English nobleman born in the 12th century who was cruel in nature far before he was ever turned into a vampire. He was the type to abduct peasants and torture them in secret from time to time, if you will. He wasn't the type to climb up in rank or to care for politics; he simply enjoyed the comfort and power he was given at birth and to abuse it.
I can only imagine him turning of his own volition. The story I have in mind entails him accidentally capturing a vampire and then ending up to befriend them (more or less) (definitely a male vampire because I doubt a woman would tolerate Geoffrey's bullshit), and eventually begging him for eternal life. It's possible he killed his own Paramount or in some way betrayed him just to be rid of any kind of authority figure, though I doubt this would be too well-known among other vampires. Either way, his Para is not around anymore.
Geoffrey has simply traveled through Europe, not going much beyond that, always presenting himself as noble still to maintain his privileges. Probably had both human servants and vampire Subs at all times. From time to time he changed his name, because, I mean, wouldn't we all lol - currently it's Geoffrey Lamb (making full circle and returning to his original first name but I assume that's changed a couple times too). Anyway; he was a sadistic hedonist more than an ambitious politician at any point in time. He liked to remain under the radar. Smart enough to achieve this, though - he wasn't dumb, just awful. Probably didn't put in much time to develop telepathy or any other specific vampiric skills, simply because he had no ambition to do so. He was bored easily and had a lot of half-assed skills and hobbies in general.
He had big blue eyes and black hair. Genteel face, generally handsome looking. Uncanny vibe though, and I don't mean that in the sense of "very goodlooking but something is off" - I mean that he genuinely just had an incredibly unsettling and weird vibe to him that's ultimately Not Sexy (unless you're into that specifically of course). (I hate myself for doing this but... If you need a visual idea, Ramsay Bolton from Game Of Thrones. Not entirely what I mean but he has the expressive bulging blue eyes I have in mind. And is an evil character with similar attitude to people that aren't Antigone. Needs longer hair though.) He really had to learn tact over the years he'd been immortal because he did not naturally have that - he had always been deliberately provocative and shocking until realizing it wasn't the most effective way of luring in prey. Used to be very "bull in a China shop", especially regarding his sadism, because he was the type to find people's shock hilarious. (Would not do this to authority figures because he didn't want to get caught, but definitely towards people he had any power over)
He was much sneakier by the time Antigone met him, though. Could be very gentle for prolonged periods of time as long as he took out his sadism on other people. Could definitely play the role of a perfect husband for the months he'd been married to Antigone (who most certainly isn't his first wife - but none of his previous partners made it out alive, even if he'd turned them). He was a great actor. He often took on roles to lure in prey, even as a human he'd pretend to be people he wasn't. Geoffrey had an odd sense of humor that is almost funny. He was cunning, laid-back, and a prankster of the more harmful kind.
Geoffrey was obsessed with Antigone, no doubt. If he loved her is up for debate - but I'd say that, for as much as Geoffrey was capable of love, he did - loving simply was not his most developed skill. To her he came off as an easy going, learned man with a good sense of humor. Said humor was overly morbid though and she did pick up on that. She had some trouble warming up to him, initially very skittish, but after months and months of gentle coaxing, she came to trust him. Antigone isn't sure she was ever in love with him - but she did like him. After arriving in Greenstone though, Geoffrey became more unpredictable, and all the suspicion she'd had before flared up in a fervorous pyre.
player characters:
|
NESSA CRAVEN | what even are you
Though Nessa is a divinely beautiful woman, Antigone wants nothing to do with her. She'll bolt at the sight of her. Antigone is still busy processing the fact that Nessa bit her and drank some of her blood (mortifying experience for a woman who knows nothing of vampirism), and Antigone isn't sure what would have happened if it hadn't been for Geoffrey interfering. So, Nessa is on her list to avoid. This does not mean Antigone isn't intrigued and wants to know what is going on. She doesn't get much of a chance to figure Nessa out, though - for she's quite literally being hunted by her.
HELIAS VANPARYS | geoffrey's acquantaince
Antigone is not very familiar with Helias, but knows him better than she does most others in Greenstone. He used to visit her home quite frequently to speak with her husband in hushed tones about topics Geoffrey refused to elaborate about. It frustrates her to know so little. Regardless, Antigone does not know who Helias is exactly, but she does know that he is a man with power. She would go to him first for help after Geoffrey's demise, sheerly because she knows no one else, but she's not too confident he is willing to help her. After all, they are essentially complete strangers to one another, and she is distinctly aware that Helias' attitude is rather cold.
CARWEN WEASMER | not the worst of men
Though not terribly familiar with Carwen, he does pay her to sing ballads in his tavern from time to time. She likes the place, and is thus never unhappy to see Carwen, even if she doesn't know him well. She thinks he comes off as nice enough. Geoffrey didn't let her speak much with Carwen one-on-one before his demise, so this may also have contributed to how little she knows her occasional employer.
THINGS NOT YET FINISHED DISCUSSING WILL BE ADDED LATER jeez why are forum posts so much wider than chapters now my layout is ugly / edit: why did i write yeez instead of jeez
