Het team van Kirk krijgt een nieuwe missie. Een planeet genaamd "Bosco" verkeerd in groot gevaar. Een onbekend ruimte schip met erg geavanceerde technologie neemt de energie uit de kern van de planeet op. De USS Enterprise vliegt in warp-snelheid naar Bosco, maar krijgt onderweg vele problemen. 1 van de grootste problemen is dat Scotty ontdekt dat er is geprutst aan de motoren.
