Silent suffering
Silent suffering
The morning breaks at dawn,
listen to the silent pleas.
All innocence is lost,
no ground to stand, fall on their knees.
Searching for a trail of hope,
remaining in the dust.
A fruitless quest, full of despair,
the goal a certain must.
Walls of fire closing in,
on the streets the people burn.
Shadows of the past now,
ashes lost, kept within the urn.
Religion falls, makes its stand,
all thrown away for greed.
The powers of the strong divine,
Brought down here, just to bleed.
And as my eyes change course,
More suffering unmasked.
Silent prayers beg for hope,
forgiveness lies within the past.
Animals they have become,
caged, locked behind those bars.
Now objects of lust and desire,
their eyes see dying stars.
Shipped across cyan seas,
their cries immortally lost.
No savior in their reach,
This toll settled a heavy cost.
As the ocean breaks the tide,
The sirens will call out.
Send me sleeping, the restless soul,
and take away all doubt.
The morning breaks at dawn,
listen to the silent pleas.
All innocence is lost,
no ground to stand, fall on their knees.
