Hugo Jay Archibald
Name
Hugo - From Hugh, spirit
Jay - From Jason, a Greek hero
Archibald - Genuinely bold
Age 21, 13th of February
Reputation He's the boring one in the fraternity. He does go to the parties, has an awfully good time, gets totally smashed and does the craziest things, but always ends up in the same bed with the same person: his long-time . He's also the one who's always up between 6 and 7AM every weekday and usually on Saturday before 9AM.
Kappa Kappa Tau or Sigma Gamma Theta Sigma Gamma Theta. He has been initiated in the first few months of his first year, he doesn't like to talk about that, which means he has been a Sigma for his whole University-career. His fraternity is his family and he would die for each and everyone of his brothers.
Nationality Irish-American, from Hell's Kitchen, New York City, NY. Although he moved to Woodlawn when he was just 5, Hell's Kitchen will always be his home and his heart.
Appearance Hugo is a tall and very pale boy, with a few hickeys on his neck and chest. He's 1.80m long, has wild shortish bright ginger hair and dark, almost black, eyes, which are large and showcase every emotion and thought running through his head. Hugo's eyes are the most sparkling and intriguing things there are. They captivate anyone who dares to look into the sparkling pools of darkness, like the night sky. Hugo has very pointy, almost fairy-like features, which are extremely expressive, just as his eyes. His smile is as bright that it lights up the world once it shows itself, though his usual expression is slightly frowning in either wonder or worry. He usually seems like a skinny boy, wearing trousers and old black Oxfords, usually topped with a shirt and a jacket or a jumper. Sometimes he wear a jacket with a t-shirt, or just a jumper, but mostly he's usually neatly dressed, trying to fit in, while in fact he's just a poor kid in a rich fraternity. Once he gets undressed, during practise for example, you'll get to see how incredibly muscular he actually is. He has an enormous lung capacity and is very strong. He doesn't usually show it, though it might happen when he gets drunk. Hugo has three tattoos: One is a clover on his right shoulder with 'Riamh ar ais síos' around it, what means ' Never give up' in Irish. The second is a tiny 'HK', for Hell's Kitchen, on the skin between his index finger and thumb with a tiny devil's tale and horns on it. The last one's are the names of his mum around his left ring finger and the names of his brother and sister around his right ring finger. If Hugo needs to be neatly dressed, he has a three piece all black suit and tie. He doesn't really like dressing up, but he knows when he has to and also acts on this.
Character Hugo is a fun, smart and easily lovable hyperactive kid with a tendency to spontaneously acting upon his gut feelings and to be open towards everyone. Nobody even bothers to ask any more what on god's forsaken earth he is doing this time around. He is extremely reckless and stubborn and is always op for new adventures, just for the hell of it and to learn something, but mostly just to have a blast. You'll have to take him as he is or otherwise fuck off. He won't change for anyone and won't be used by anyone either. The boy is neither silent nor polite, so if you act like a douche-bag around him, he'll call you out on it. He does have manners, but hardly ever uses them. Hugo is a hopeless optimist, a hoper of far-flung hopes and a dreamer of impossible dreams. Still you will be able to break him with the few touchy subjects surrounding his young life. He'll either get extremely mad and won't be afraid to curse, break stuff and throw a few punches, or he'll hide in a tiny dark corner and become completely silent and closed for the outside world. Even so, he trusts easily and will die for you if you are his friend or loved-one. Even though his friends and loved-ones are his complete world. Hugo has some weird ways of showing his affection, but one you get used to them, he'll be the most loving, sweet and huggable guy you'll ever meet. The boy also is a big flirt, even though he can't use his large disarming puppy-eyes any more. He loves all the attention, but once he is in a relationship, Hugo is more loyal than a dog and will always try his best to make all his partner's wishes come true. It also can hurt him a lot when he notices that he has accidentally hurt his partner and will try even harder to make up for it. Adding to all this is that Hugo will never cheat or break-up with someone, which has lead to the fact that he has been dumped several times. It has brought him a fair share of pain and has made his skin though, though his childhood has done most of that. This is why he sometimes might seem like an cold rude ass-hole, but this is just for his own protection. Once you're past it the lovable hyperactive touchy-feely 5-year-old will take up all the empty space you have left in your heart.
History/Family
Niamh Molly Archibald(44) - Mother
Erin Amy Archibald(25) - Sister
Luke Ross Archibald(23) - Brother
Hugo was born in Hell's Kitchen, New York City. He's the youngest of his mother's children, she has three, the bastard of her and a navy officer who was docked in the Hell's Kitchen harbour. He's never known his dad, and with his mum being a single parent, he has never known the rich life-style most New Yorker's, especially the ones being born in Manhattan, have. The problem was that the city decided to overturn the old Irish American neighbourhood, in order to fight the sky-high crime rates and murders in the neighbourhood. This meant that his mum, and the other 5 single mothers in his building, who were the mothers of his best friends, were forced to leave the neighbourhood their families had lived in for generations, because they simply couldn't afford it anymore. The six of them, and their children, moved from a 4 story building with 6 apartments above a shop, to 6 apartments on a floor of a high rise building in Woodlawn, The Bronx. It was a bad neighbourhood to start of with, and living on the edge of the Irish neighbourhood meant he and his friends were one of the few white kids on the block. He had to transfer schools, which made it worse, though he could go to an Irish school, he never felt as at home there as he did in Hell's Kitchen. Over the years Woodlawn became more and more his home, but he still longs back to the old days in the old Hell's Kitchen. He grew up in this harsh neighbourhood, roaming the gang and crime ridden streets after school, because there wasn't much else to do for a poor kid in New York City. It was a time which shaped him and his friends a lot. When he was 7 his school offered swimming lessons for the children of poor families. He loved this, but after two years, he was too old for the program. He hated it, and wanted to keep swimming, but his mum didn't have the money for it. After a year, when he was 10, he found himself getting a job as store clerk for a local greengrocer. He was very young, but it gave him the money to be able to take up swimming again on the school team. Although most days he only ate school lunch and a sandwich before bed, he was happy to get into the water again. This continued into Middle School and High School, where it became very clear that Hugo had a talent. He started doing it because it was fun and it kept him off the streets and out of gangs, but the more he did it, the more doors it seemed to open for him. Swimming also made it possible for him to go to university in the first place. He did have quite good grades, but not nearly good enough for a scholarship, but being a multiple times regional champion gave him the opportunity to come here to study. His mum is extremely proud, and so are his friends, but it's hard for him to be so far away from them for such a long time. This is one of the reasons he joined the fraternity: To gain a family while his was miles and miles away. Also this would give him a room that he didn't have to pay, as he would have for the other dorms on campus. He's always been one of the odd ones out, because he's not from a wealthy family, though his hometown saves some of that, and because he isn't a person for sleeping around. He is however a well respected athlete, regional champion both in Georgia and New York, and an extremely loyal member of the fraternity.
Relationships
Extra You can find Hugo in the pool 20 to 23 hours a week. On week days he trains 2 hours before class and two hours after class, and on Saturday he has his competitions, which leaves him free to party Saturday and Sunday night, but if the occasion arises, he'll party any night of the week, and skip a night's sleep, though not too often, because this is what will probably kill him in the end.
Hugo has a . It started off as friends-with-benefits. In the beginning Hugo did some sleeping around, but already quite soon it didn't feel good anymore. It became more and more a relationship under the name of friends-with-benefits. Now is Hugo a boy who's already quite clingy, but it went to ridiculous proportions. It was so bad that the frat-leader encouraged him to make it official, because the only ones they were fooling with the label of friends-with-benefits were themselves. Once it was official, the extreme parts were softened a little, and so did his jealousy and insecurity about the whole situation. He's a very happy camper in his relationship and doesn't miss the time back when he had a different person every other night.
Hugo studies Veterinary Medicine. He loves it, it's really heavy together with his training and his social life. Now he has survived Hell's Kitchen and The Bronx, he's sure he can survive University in Georgia.
Even though Hugo, his siblings and his mother, were born and raised in America, he has a thick Irish accent. This is mostly due to the fact that he has been raised speaking that language at home and with his friends, as well as in church. He only spoke English in the shops, to other, non-Irish, kids, and at school during all classes apart from Gaelic. He attended a normal Middle and High School, which meant he had to speak English at school all the time, but the accent never seemed to fade even a tiny bit. Even now he's out of the Irish neighbourhood, and isn't around his Irish friends all day, every day, his accent is strong as ever.
