Er zijn zo van die momenten waarop ik het gewoon enorm leuk vind om conversaties tussen Abbey en haar tweelingbroer Cameron te schrijven. Zo bevoorbeeld dit:
“Look, Joy,” Cameron whispered. “It’s auntie. She comes to rescue us from the hot lobby.”
Abbey laughed. “Auntie to the rescue! Can I hold her, Cameron?”
Cameron held out both his hands and Abbey took little Joy from him, Joy didn’t cry, but she stared up at Abbey with her blue eyes. A curious look lay in them as she examined Abbey. Abbey gently brushed again the little girls nose and petted her over the head.
“I hope you didn’t have to wait long for me,” Abbey said. “You really did push me to visit though. As if you were to die tomorrow and you really needed to see me to make sure that I’d take care of Joy.” Cameron laughed.
“Rest assured, I am not likely to die anytime soon and I am not dropping Joy off to go on a two year long trip or anything. Even though I would be more likely to drop Joy off at mom’s if Emma and I were to do anything like going on a two year long trip around the world. Mom just has way more experience with kids than you do and you would not be able to properly take care of her. Or you have to take Joy along on cases and stuff. Now, not like it wouldn’t be some joyous company to have that little adorable being along, I don't think it would be a good thing to have her traumatized at such an early age. Or you would decide that she needs to become a psychopath. Don't trauma's early on cause people to become psychopaths? ” Cameron asked, he smiled. "Now let's get going. If you carry Joy in her basket, I'll carry her stuff. She needs to have her bottle in about thirty minutes, so we need to get up there before that." Cameron held up Joy's carrier and Abbey strapped her in it, holding on to it carefully. Cameron picked up the bag with baby supplies and they started walking
"Trust me, I wouldn't trust myself with raising little Joy anyway. And, you are close but there is way more to it. Mostly it's abnormalities in the brain that make people have psychopathic tendencies," Abbey replied.
Oh, en dit
“You know Abbey, this house is way more untidy than I remember it to be,” Cameron said, looking at the dishes in the sink and the filthy mug on the table, at the blanket and the still opened book.
“Well, when you are called up at about 2 am, you don’t really have the time do so some tidying up before leaving. Unless you want to miss the jet and explain why you weren’t on it with : ‘Oh, I was just doing some cleaning before leaving.’. I don’t think Hotch would appreciate that,” Abbey said, picking up the restless Joy from her carrier. “Cameron, I think this baby girl needs some feeding.” Cameron smiled at Joy and nodded.
“I’ll heat her bottle. If I open this microwave, I won’t find an old meal, will I?” Cameron asked, his eyes sparkled which made it clear that he was only making a joke.
“I don’t think you will find an old meal, though I may warn you that I have the Loch Ness monster hidden in my microwave,” Abbey replied dryly. Cameron laughed.
“Thanks for the warning, Abs. "
Ik heb het nog niet echt nagekeken, dus er kunnen domme fouten in staan, en als dat het geval is, zou ik het aardig vinden als je die zou willen melden
