Chapter 2. Monotomya

"Oh, she's awake." zei Gumi zacht, toen ze de ogen van het meisje open gingen. Ze hadden eerst geen pupillen en waren helemaal roze, maar al gauw zagen haar ogen er weer normaal uit. "You're OK?" vroeg Gumi, toen ze zag dat het meisje naar haar hoofd greep. Ze knikte. "Where am I?" vroeg ze verward. "In my house." zei Gumi met een aardige glimlach. "No, I mean, on which planet am I?" vroeg ze haastig. "Earth." zei Gumi, die haar vreemd aankeek. "So is it true that you're an alien?" "An alien? No, you are the alien." zei het meisje. "Who are you calling alien!" Gumi begon zich al een beetje aan haar te ergeren. "Hi, i'm SF-A2 Miki. Who are you?" ze lachte en stak haar hand uit. "I'm Megpoid Gumi. Nice to meet you." ze legde haar hand in die van Miki. "You've got to help me Megpoid Gumi." zei ze toen, alsof iets haar weer te binnen schoot. "You can just call me Gumi, and what do I have to help you with?" vroeg ze. "My planet Monotomya is in serious danger. I'm looking for someone who can help me. Do you know someone?" "Depends on what kind of danger." antwoorde Gumi. "It has been taken over by planet Kinkindra. The most evil and dangerous planet in the whole universe." gaf Miki aan. Gumi dacht na. "I don't think the police will believe you. Neither the firemen. I don't think they can do anything." zei Gumi met een spijtig gezicht. Miki keek naar beneden. Het leek alsof ze bijna wou huilen. "I'm the only one who could escape. My whole family and all my friends are still there." "I'm sorry." zei Gumi, die zich vreselijk voelde dat ze haar nier kon helpen. "Can we at least try something?" vroeg Miki. "Sure. But I have to go to school tomorrow first." zei Gumi. "School? We have that also on our planet. Can I come with you?" vroeg Miki blij. Gumi knikte. "But you have to look like a real human first. Otherwise it's impossible for you to be here." "Ok, thank you Megpoid Gumi." "It's Gumi, but no problem."
