    hmm, i would say maybe their parents (or just the dad) sometime make offhand remarks on muggles and muggle-borns. maybe they're not fully dark wizards or support voldy, but they're also not as progressive as the potters?
    so evan would more easily get influenced to join the dark side, because he doesn't see blood purity as something so weird and wrong.
    maybe there's a right wing uncle or something who often goes on long anti-muggle rants during christmas etc., and evan started following that train of thought - and then maybe recently the uncle was like 'hey kid if you're interested, you should come to this rally thing with me' and thus evan became a nazi.
