    Roles      ☠      Talking      ☠      Drama

High Schools - and teenagers in general - are known for their clichés, stereotypes and drama. Friends are made and lost, enemies lurk around every corner and teachers are the worst. Here at Borealis, it isn't any different. Or is it?

    ☠            ☠

Eventhough the Hunter Community is really close, it's still a community. And some people tend to not fit in. Orphans, trouble makers and other unwanted children only have one place to go: Borealis. A school - a fucking community - in the middle of icecold nothing. These kids might be special, they might have abilities, they might have a perfect shot, but they're still kids. So prepare, for all the clichés, stereotypes and drama. Because Borealis is not that different at all ...

    Home. Hell. Same difference.

It's my intention to only play the 'students', but if you want something else, just ask and I'll see what we can do.

    Fill in
Your role can be really simple. It is allowed to keep it short and you do not have to use a layout. Ofcourse, if you want to; go knock yourself out.
    ❖ Name (any)
❖ Age (10 -20) You can play a kid, but do realise that it affects your character's relationships and interaction. Do realise that anyone older than 18 has to have a partner who's at least a year younger. It's possible, but also rare at this school.
    ❖ Nationality (any)
    (❖ Specialties) (not obligated)
❖ Looks A picture is enough, but you can always describe more.
❖ Personality Traits alone are enough for me, but I recommend a little bit of explanation so it's clear for the others.
❖ History It's enough to say why your character is staying at Borealis and for how long. So if you just say orphan, 3 years, that's enough. You can put more if you want to.
    ❖ Relationships (any)

    Start
Yo. I've got some stuff to say, before I start this thing.

It's some day in April and the students all get a short break, for about 5 days (including the weekend). It's the last day before that break and to celebrate it, the older students organize a party in an old bunker in the north. Students between the ages of 16 and 20 are allowed. It's a big party, because it's held once a year. It's nothing like a prom, it's more of a huge party with lots of booze and other stuff. Ofcourse, the school itself doesn't apporve it, but they have never been able to stop it and quite frankly, they stopped trying. For a lot of students, this is the first time they are able to go and since it's something they've been looking out to since they were little, it'll be an exciting night. Everyone is going.
It's lunchtime now and they still have an afternoon of training ahead. The party starts at 9PM.

If it's necessary, I'll type out the schedule of the day, so let me know if you need that.

    Borealis

    Location & Map
    Location

    ❖ Russian Siberia (East)
    ❖ Average temp: -10°C
❖ Isolated, but large city, around 25km south.
The winter is very long (half september till the end of april) and very cold. Snow only falls in september and october , but stays the entire winter. Summer is short and hot during the day, cool/cold during the night.
❖ Because of the isolation, there are a lot of lone vampires and werewolves. If you don't get the logic - which is probably, bc this sounds weird - just ask me, bc I don't wanna explain right now.

    Location & Map
The school owns a large area of woods, a lake, sportareas and the buildings. There's also a lot underground. It looks old on the outside, but it's actually quite modern. There's a small airport in the north.

    2) This is where new students and travelers sign up. It's also where you have to go when you're 'sent to the principal'.
    3) This is where the students sleep and live when they're not doing anything else. Every student has a room and a small bathroom on their own. There are four floors. The first and second floor are for the children between the ages of 6 and 12. The third and fourth floor are for the students between the ages of 13 and 20. The girls sleep on the 1st and 3rd floor, while the boys sleep on the 2nd and 4th floor. Showers are mutual and there's 10 of them on every floor. In the livingspace you have a few large rooms with TV's, pooltables, whatever you can think of.
    4) This is where the teachers and other staffmembers live and sleep. It's similar to that of the students, except there are only two floors. The women sleep on the second floor, while the men sleep on the first. There's only one, large living room.
    5) This is where everybody eats. There's room for about 400 people, so it's never full and everybody can sit where they want. There's always bread and breakfast available. If you want to eat something warm, you'll have to be there between 11 AM and 9 PM (21).
    6) These are the bedrooms of the guests. There aren't many of them, but it suffices. They have seperate rooms with their own bathrooms. There's a small, mutual livingroom.

    7) This is where the smaller children have their 'normal' classes. It's comparable to elementary school.
    8) This is where the teenagers have their 'normal' classes. It's something in between middle and highschool.
    9) This building has two rooms: A music room (with all the instruments you can think off) and a large aula, suitable for around 600 people.
    10) This is the library. Students can study and read here. Besides the normal world books, there are also a lot of books about the Hunter world. Most of them are copies of the originals.
    11) This is where the students get their theoretical classes. Half of the building resembles more of a museum, though.
    12) This is where the sick and injured are treated. They are prepared for a lot, but when someone is hurt really bad, there's always a small airplane or helicopter available.
    13) This is where students can shop. From clothes and toothpaste to weapons, alcohol and sigarettes, you can find almost anything here. And if you can't, you're allowed to order it here as well.

    3) This is the weapon development labaratory of the school. It's full of weird stuff and it's very modern, but it lacks WiFi.
    4) This is a large shooting range. It's always kept in top condition.
    5) It resembles a gym, but it has a simulationprogram and all kinds of weaponry.
    6) This resembles a dojo. It's where the close combat classes take place. There are matts and mirrors.
    7) This is the place where you can train with all the non-shooting weapons.
    8) This is just a regular gym. You can play all kinds of sports here.

    Rules
❖ Alcohol is forbidden under the age of 17
❖ Cigarettes are forbidden under the age of 15
    ❖ All drugs are forbidden
❖ Guns and other shooting weapons aren't allowed outside the shooting range, unless you have permission
❖ Students are not allowed to enter the Archives
❖ Students are not allowed to leave the terrain without permission
❖ Students from the ages 6 to 12 have to be in their building between 8:30 PM and 7 AM

❖ Students from the ages 13 to 20 have to be in their room between 12 PM and 5 AM
❖ Students have to pay their respects for every graduated hunter.
❖ To avoid misuse of the previous rules, every graduated hunter has to leave the school for at least two years.
❖ The rooms will be checked every sunday. Privacy will be kept, but the dorms have to be clean and tidy.
❖ No one is allowed to hurt anyone in anyway, unless it's during training.
    ❖ Pets are allowed

    Students
❖ This isn't a school for every regular hunter. In fact, only three kinds of children end up here:
    - The ones who don't have a Hunter family that is big enough to give them the proper training. They are usually sent by their parents or other family members.
    - Orphans. They are the ones who are discovered and usually don't know anything about Hunters until they arrive at the school.
    - The troublemakers and unwanted. These children are usually so awful their family sent them away to gain some discipline. Most children belong in this group.

❖ The school houses children between the age of 6 and 20. That means every child has had the test with the photograph and everyone stays - unless something really serious happened - until their graduation.
❖ These children do not excist for the normal world. They don't have valid papers, or those won't be used.
❖ At the moment, there are 186 students housed. There are 53 teachers and 16 other staffmembers.

    Vacation
Although this is a hard environment and there isn't much space for mental issues and care, they are not entirely unreasonable. The children can leave the school.
❖ They spend the coldest period of the year (half december - half februari) in a different country. Usually somewhere in Europe or North-America. The school will be divided in groups of maximum 50 and be stationed at a Quarter. This is not a break and the lessons (usually exams) will continue.
❖ The schoolyear ends on the 16th of June. It starts again on the 23rd of July.
❖ They get to go on a vacation in juli. It's three weeks long and they can choose their own destination (one that's on the list (15)). After these three weeks, school starts again.
❖ They often get a few days of during the year.
❖ Last winter, they went to Dubhaile, Scotland.
❖ Although it's not allowed, there are often parties for the students aged 15 or older. They take place in some of the old, not used buildings further north on the terrain.

    Training
❖ 6 years old: The children are shown a picture of a vampire. If they cannot see them, they are hunters. This is the age they are allowed at the school.
    Start of theoretic lessons.
❖ 8 - 10 years old: The children get their partner - with a maximum age difference of two years, although they try to keep the difference as small as possible - and a small brand of a moon on their right wrist. They start as soon as the youngest of the two turns 8.
    Start of practical lessons.

❖ 11 - 13 years old: They get to go on their first hunt, but are not allowed to kill anything - unless it cannot be avoided. They are guided by at least one more experienced hunter couple, who do most of the job.
    Choice of specialisations.*
    Theoretic lessons stop.
❖ 14 - 16 years old: They get to go on their first, unguided hunt. This is - after graduation - the highlight of their study. This is the moment their first kill happens. After this day, they go on a hunt every two weeks. They get a larger, but simple tattoo. Whenever they reach a certain amount of kills, the tattoo gets more detailed. (1ste kill, 10de kill, 25ste kill, 50ste kill, 80ste kill 100ste kill, 145ste kill, 200ste kill. After this one, a new tatto will be started.)
❖ 18 - 20 years old: They graduate. There's a ceremony each year, but I'm too lazy to think off that. They get another brand of a sun on their left wrist. Afterwards, they get a week to pack their stuff and leave. They are not allowed to come back for at least 2 years. However, they are allowed to keep their contacts and see their friends, just not at school.
❖ Ofcourse, not every student arrives at the school at the age of 6. The ones who are older get an adapted cousre. It's usually more intense and a lot more difficult as they get the same amount of time. Students who arrive really late, usually never become true Hunters and will become Teachers or researchers.

    Lessons
    Normal

They get a normal education, although it's a bit easier than usual. It's a lot of selfstudy and it's only the basic classes. The older you get, the more you have to do on your own.
    ❖ Math
    ❖ English
    ❖ Russian
❖ Science (Chemistry, Physics & Biology)
    ❖ (Human) History
    ❖ Geography

    *Specialisations

Every student gets basic training lessons. These are the things the students want to train extra. Another basic lesson is survivaling.
    Theoretics
❖ History & Research of monsters (H&RM): You'll learn everything there is to know about monsters, which isn't that much. This is a course that is looked down upon and not many students take it. The History part is quite extensive, but there isn't much budget and interest for the research.
❖ Firearms; History (FH): This is a course that cannot be taken alone. Students who follow weapondevelopment have to take it, while it's an option for the students who follow the course Firearms; Practice.
❖ Handarms; History (HH): This is a course that cannot be taken alone. Students who follow weapondevelopment have to take it, while it's an option for the students who follow the course Handarms; Practice.
❖ History & Research of Hunters (H&RH): You'll learn everything there is to know about Hunters, which isn't that much. This is a course that is looked down upon and not many students take it. The History part is quite extensive, but there isn't much budget and interest for the research.
    Practice
❖ Kill & Conquer; Vampires (KCV): This is the course where you'll learn every detail about killing vampires.
❖ Kill & Conquer; Werewolves (KCW): This is the course where you'll learn every detail about killing werewolves.
❖ Firearms; Practice (FP): You'll learn about guns and everything that shoots. You also learn how to use most of them, and choose a few to specialise in.
❖ Handarms; Practice (HP): You'll learn about knives, swords and every weapon that doesn't require munition. You also learn how to use most of them, and choose a few to specialise in.
❖ Close Combat (CC): Here you'll learn how to fight when you don't have a weapon.
    Both
❖ Weapon Development (WD): Here you'll learn how to change, improve or invent weapons of all kinds and other aids for hunting. Students who take this course also have to follow the History of both kinds of weapons.
❖ Medicine: This is where you'll learn advanced first aid and everything else you need to know about healing and stuff. The students can choose how many years they'll take this course and when to start, as it's based at level and not at age.
❖ Foreign Cooperation (FC): This is already very specific. The students who take this course will be Travelers, which are some kind of ambassadors/negotiators. This course includes at least 2 more languages (choosing from Arabic, Portuguese, Chinese, Spanish & French), communication and culture & customs. They also take two more short trips to other countries, in octobre and march.

    Exams

    ❖ They have regular tests
❖ There are midterm exams in january and final exams in the last and first two weeks of june.

    Money
❖ To keep it easy, we'll just use the euro. I don't have a clue what the normal prices are in Russia (1 euro = almost 60 ruble, but idk how much a bottle of water costs, ya know.)
❖ Every student gets some pocket money. When they're younger than 12, they get 20 the month. When they're older, they get 40.
❖ Kids who still have a family, often get more money sent to them.
❖ The students can earn some money when they do chores.

    Sports
❖ There are only teams when the interest is big enough. They play a lot of sports during training, but outside of that it depends. I'll go further on with this if people are interested.

    Relationshit.

    Hunters

❖ At least one of the parents has to be a Hunter as well. That's the only requirement.
❖ Hunters cannot turn into a monster.
❖ Hunters can recognize monsters, they're more fit physically and they are more resistant to pain and illness.
❖ At the proper age, they have to take a test. The results of this test determine the partner. Hunters almost never hunt without their partner and they learn to train together. They can, however, take different courses. Every combination (male x male, male x female, female x female, ...) is possible and there are no restrictions on the relationship between them.
❖ There are a few rules every hunter has to keep:
          - Humans have to be kept out at all costs. This means physically, but also by knowledge.
          - Werewolves may not be harmed when they are in human form, unless it's self-defence.
          - One bullet is better than two.
          - Never make a vampire go into a Tantrum on purpose
          - Never hurt a non-feeding member of the Colonies.

    Monsters

If you've got the time and motivation; you can read everything about vampires and werewolves here. If you don't; just keep this shit in mind:
    Vampires
❖ Hunters recognize them because they do not have a reflection or show on images and film. This is uniquely for Hunters.
❖ They can die when you cut of their head, damage their heart enough or put them on fire.
❖ Their biggest weakness is sunlight for young vampires, and elektricity for them all. And fire, but that's kind of everybody's weakness.
    Werewolves
❖ Hunters recognize them because their irises are completely black (not their entire eyes, just the colourpart). Only Hunters can see this.
❖ They can die whenever you hurt them enough.
❖ Only changed werewolves are a target. It's forbidden to kill a werewolf in humanform, unless it's self-defense.
❖ Their biggest weakness is silver.

    Rules

    Huisregels
❖ Only Tamatoa is allowed to open new topics, unles I ask differently
Whenever there is an issue, send me and/or the person involved a pb or gb. Don't put it in the topic. This is not to silence anything, but I've seen (and have been on both sides, I'll admit that) it happen when someone points something out, a lot of people react to it. There is nothing wrong with that, but it can feel like an attack and I want to avoid that. Long story short; I'm sick of the drama, whether watching it, or being part of it. This does not apply to questions. (Don't spam me)
❖ Maximum three characters, with at least two different sexes
❖ OOC clearly indicated or do it in the Talktopic
❖ Mentioned in your post: Who, where and with whom. A special lay-out is not obligated.
❖ Your post only has to be at least 50 words. That's almost nothing, so I hope there will be more posts, as they are less time consuming.
❖ Posts and roles have to be in English. Everything else doesn't really matter. You can choose
❖ If you need more information about RPG'ing, go check this out

    Dana Helen Warden
    19 – Norway – talking to Mason

When life sucks, just dance; and since life always sucks, always dance.

Dana let the music lead her. It was so liberating to just stop thinking and let the music decide. It felt great. Although she was training on a few new steps, she was now just dancing. She had had a free hour before lunch and class, so she had decided to use that to dance. But when she finally stopped the music, she realized she was late – as usual. It was already lunchtime.
She took the shortest shower ever – a personal record, as she always took showers that were way too long – and rushed over to the cafetaria. Her hair was still wet, so she just made a bun of it. She would properly brush it later. It would just look like a mess if she would let it loose now.
She took a plate of food and sat down somewhere. She had seen Rose still in a queue – apparently hers had been faster – and had decided to claim a table, so she could ask her to join her. It was only when she already sat that she noticed someone had claimed the table already. It was Mason.
“Oh, hey Mason,” she said with a smile. “Is it okay if I join you?” She laughed softly about herself, as it was quite obvious she was too late with asking that. Even with this she wasn’t able to be on time. If he didn’t want her here, she would of course leave, but as most of the tables were already claimed, she hoped he wouldn’t mind as she wasn’t very keen on the idea of standing while eating.

The purpose of a writer is to keep civilization from destroying itself.

    Timur Sevastian Vasilyev

    19 — Cafetaria — Mason & Dana

As soon as Timur entered the cafeteria, his eyes started scanning the room for her. Her small posture, her brown skin, her hazel eyes, her dark hair. As always, there were enough people greeting him and he knew a lot of people would without a doubt let him join them at their table, but he wanted her.
He stood in the doorway for about 5 minutes until he came to the conclusion she wasn't there. Or she was and he just couldn't see him from this angle. He decided to stop standing there, looking like an idiot and walked over to the table where he had spotted his best mate Mason a few minutes before.
"What's up?" Timur asked as a way of greeting his friend. He noticed the ginger-haired girl on the other end of the table a few seconds too late, but flashed her a smile nonetheless. "Didn't see you there, Dana. Hi."

    LYRA MOREAU
    ««« Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn »»»

A slight smile played on Lyra's lips as Abel told her about his boring classes. She nodded in agreement and continued to let her gaze wander through the cafeteria. Every now and then she saw someone she knew. Or well, Lyra actually recognised most of the people in the cafeteria but only a few of them had held her interest.
Lyra saw Mason sitting together with a red head that she didn't immediately recognise. Hm, well, that happened all the times. If she remembered correctly she was the partner of Rose. In the meanwhile another person had joined their table which made the whole situation a lot less interesting.
"Hm, would you mind going outside? I forgot how much I dislike the crowd in here." She said, standing up while she looked at her companion, waiting for an answer. If Abel decided to stay then she would just go out on her own. She just really needed a breath of fresh air.

When time and life shook hands and said goodbye.

                      Rosaleigh Camille Desormeaux
    16 ➵ Waiting in line ➵ Cafetaria ➵ Reed

Any normal girl would have jumped and maybe even screamed when they suddenly feel a hand on their shoulder, but Rose - or any lady at Borealis - wasn't normal. She was a Hunter - and a pretty damn good one - so instead, she drew her knife and turned around, ready to eliminate the threath. Ofcourse, the only threath in the cafetaria was the tomatoesauce.
"Afternoon, curly head. What’s on your menu tonight?" Reed asked her. She put her knife down and gave him a glare, but softened rather quickly.
"Your head if you scare me again," she answered. She didn't feel like smiling, but her lips made a small curl nevertheless. She really liked Reed, but she wasn't sure if she liked - or trusted - him enough. "I don't know actually, I'm not that hungry," she answered again, this time more seriously. "What about you?"
She could see her partner's red hair making its way throught the cafetaria, but it was too crowded to see the rest of her. Rose shrugged mentally and decided to check on her later. They were partners, but Rose barely knew her, since it was only for a year. Not that she had had a strond bond with her previous partner, but at least she had been used to him. But Dana wasn't too bad and her mind hadn't been brainwashed by stupid teenage rumours.
"Don't take the spaghetti. De Korte is cooking and you know his tomatoes are deadly. I swear, if you want to make the ultimate weapon, ask the recipe. It's capable of burning three vampires to death with only a single drop," she told Reed, suddenly feeling a tad better.

Mason got lost in his own thought. They weren't really that exciting or anything, but they kept him from dying of boredom. A soft voice saying his name woke him up from his daydream. He looked up and saw Dana standing in front of him. Mason didn't really know what they're relationship was together, but he was fine with her joining him. So when she asked if it was indeed okay if she joined him, he nodded and smiled lightly. 'Yes, of course,' He answered.
He padded on the seat on his right, as a sign that she should sit down. 'I'm waiting for our favourite troublemaker,' Mason said, while laughing. He was talking about Timur. Timur was his best friend, so he could basically say anything about him - as long as it wasn't really mean, although Mason would never intentionally hurt his best friend. 'So, how was your morning?' He asked Dana.
Not much later Mason heard Timur's voice. "What's up?" Mason looked up. 'Nothing much, just hanging out with my girl, Dana,' Mason wrapped his arm around Dana's shoulder. He hoped that she would know it was a joke. 'How about you?'

Luckily Mason didn’t mind her joining him, so she could sit next to him. “I’m waiting for out favourite troublemaker,” he told her. She laughed. Of course she knew who he was talking about. Timur and Mason were basically inseperable.
    “So, how was your morning?”
Dana smiled. “Well, nothing weird has happened yet, so I guess it’s pretty okay. I haven’t murdered anyone by accident today at least.” She wasn’t that clumsy actually, but if things went wrong, they went really wrong. “What about you?”
It didn’t take long before Timur showed up. “What’s up?” He didn’t see her at first, but she was used to that. While he realized she was there, Mason wrapped his arm around her. “Nothing much, just hanging out with my girl, Dana.”
Dana responded by playing along and leaning against Mason. She liked being touched actually and did it to others too – not in a creepy way though. She just liked friendly hugs, an arm around her, a hand on a shoulder to show support, lying together and using the other as pillow, a head resting on the other’s shoulder – well, any sort of physical contact actually, no matter the context.
“Hey Timur,” she said. “Sorry, I’ve stolen Mason. If you ask nicely, I might share.” Her smile was a bit too innocent.

    ABEL NATHANIEL RUTHERFORD
    17 ❖ Australian ❖ Outside ❖ Lyra

    ]
A lot happened in a few seconds and Abel felt bad about Rose leaving. He didn't want her to feel the way she did, but he also didn't want to make her feel uncomfortable with forcing his friendship on to her. Abel looked at Lyra in silence and he took a little moment to appreciate his best friend. She may come across as loud and mean, but she was never anything less than amazing to Abel. She was supportive and she didn't seem to judge, no matter what he did. He could tell her he blew up a classroom or he had a juicy affaire with a hot teacher and she'd still be cool with it. Abel smiled lightly when he thought of that. No, he would never go there with a teacher. There weren't any hot teachers so that was very easy.
Lyra's voice woke Abel up again. "Hm, would you mind going outside? I forgot how much I dislike the crowd in here." He looked at her and nodded, he could use some fresh air. He also stood up and wrapped his arm around her shoulders, while pulling her into a side-hug. At that moment he had to express his appreciation towards her and he didn't care that everybody could see it. 'Did I ever mention how awesome you are?' He asked. 'Probably not enough, so here it is: Lyra you're great,'
He let go of her and walked towards the door that would lead them outside. He sat down at a little bench. 'So what do you think is going on between Leif and Elin? They seem to be really close,' He tried to not sound jealous, because he wasn't jealous of their relationship - he just didn't like Leif being so distracted all the time.

The teacher ended the lesson and before Réka knew, everybody had already left the classroom. She wanted to spend some time reading through the theory, because she felt she was behind a little. She quickly asked the teacher if it was okay if she stayed in the classroom and luckily for her, he gave her permission. After he left the room, she opened her book again and let her eyes scan the whole page.
After a little while she couldn't focus anymore, but she didn't feel like heading to the cafetaria. Yes, she liked a break every now and then, but this was not the moment. She decided it was better to stop reading and head to some social contact, but the isolation wasn't that good for her. She grabbed her stuff and walked out of the classroom. She stood still for a moment. Her eyes fell on Vale, her not-so-wonderful "brother". She would never call him her actual brother, because he wasn't her real brother. They were nothing alike and Réka would hate herself for allowing him to actually be family.

                      Valentino Valescu
    19 ➵ Returning from a hunt ➵ Hallway ➵ Réka

The blood on his face, hands and clothes had clotted together and trying to get rid of it, felt like waxing his stubble. Still, he kept scratching because it fucking itched like hell. He was guessing the vamp had recently had his dinner, because there was no way such a small guy contained this amount of blood. Ofcourse, Vale himself was to be blaimed, as no hunter would stab a vampire in the stumach. And definitely not multiple times.
But Vale had seen the chance to lose his temporarily partner and went out of his way on the poor champ. To his partner he later explained the guy got too close to draw his gun and he had to fight him off, which caused the massive amount of blood.
Long story short, Valentino was in a bloody good mood. Literally. He was still wearing his complete outfit, including the snowboots. He'd been out for three days and completely forgot to bring in a task, so he wanted to settle it with the teacher before he'd go eat and shower. He was starving, so he was thinking about losing most of his warm clothes and just go to the cafetaria. Everyone was used to blood anyways.
Still contemplating, he ran into a very familiar face. As his new partner wasn't that chatty, he missed talking to someone. Even if it was Réka.
"Hey, sis, what ya doing?" he asked in Romanian. They did speak English to eachother, but only when there were others. It was just weird to do it when they were alone. Or at least, that was his opinion.

Rose abruptly turned around when Reed laid his hand on her shoulder. He was facing her knife within seconds; however, he recognized her movement quite fast which led to him grabbing her wrist.
Reed had the feeling that he would have been on her menu if she wouldn’t have lowered her knife and softened her facial expression. The knife did not scare him, but it made him think. Reed and Rose used to be close friends; but at a certain moment, she had a change in her behaviour. Before that, she would not have pulled her knife in the middle of the cafeteria.
’Your head if you scare me again. I don’t know actually, I’m not that hungry. What about you?’
Reed could not bother letting his fingers slip through his blonde hair while giving her a soft smile. He was not sure whether it was meant as a joke or not; nevertheless, it made him slightly confused. Reed knew by all odds that she would have reacted in a more playful way, the way they used to utilize as a communication tool between the both of them. Unfortunately, Rose started to slightly distant herself from him.
’You should at least eat something.’ Reed said rather demanding than really polite or with concern before his eyes looked back at the food. He wanted her to eat even though she wasn’t that hungry.
’Don’t take the spaghetti. De Korte is cooking and you know his tomatoes are deadly. I swear, if you want to make the ultimate weapon, ask the recipe. It’s capable of burning three vampires to death with only a single drop.’
Reed normally only showed a soft smile when hearing a comment like this; however, this one caused a short laugh from his side. She did not lose herself completely and he actually found it funny.
’Great to know, maybe that is missing in my project I am currently working on. I already thought it could be a bit more spicy.’ Reed looked at her smiling and couldn’t resist giving her a playful push on the shoulder.
’I think I am going for the spicy chicken wings, the mashed potatoes and the daily vegetables.’ Reed shrugged while stating his daily diner, he ate the same almost every day. The only thing that changed on his plate, were the vegetable and sometimes, the other components weren’t available; so, he would exchange them for something else.
’Rose,’ he spoke before he asked the woman behind the counter for his diner wishes, ‘You are going to the party?’

Réka saw Vale standing a couple of feet away from her. She was glad she saw him before he could see her, so she could get away before he noticed her. She was not in the mood for a friendly chat with her brother. Her parents insisted on her calling him brother, because it would make him feel more welcome to the family. Réka loved her parents so much and that's why she would obey their wishes, but she never meant it. He wasn't a real brother for her and he would never be.
Réka bit her lip and sighed deeply when Vale did see her. She wanted to walk away, pretending she didn't notice him, but she was too late. He walked up to her with a big grin on his face. She really wanted to slap that smile off his face, but thank god she was able to control herself. "Hey, sis, what ya doing?"
'Fine,' She answered in Romanian. She didn't want to speak in Romanian, because she liked English and she didn't want to make others feel like she was talking about them. 'Just finished my homework, '
Réka looked at Vale and saw something strange about him, but she couldn't really tell what it was. 'Where have you been?' She asked and this time she didn't use Romanian, everybody was allowed to hear what they were talking about.

Big girls cry when their hearts are breaking

    LYRA MOREAU
    ««« Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn »»»

Lyra chuckled softly as Abel put his arm around her. There were few people that she could be around without getting bored and fortunately Abel had been the exception on the rule. Sometimes she wondered why he seemed to be the only one who really understood her, but deep inside she knew that it was entirely her own fault. It wasn't as if she was the most trustworthy person around.
A broad smile appeared on her face by Abel's sudden display of affection towards her. A blush had crept on her cheeks that she desperately tried to conceal.
"Well, where did that come from?" She asked him, "not that I'm disagreeing, because I am quite great, but it was unexpected." She laughed jokingly, trying to masque the sudden discomfort that had come with his words. She wasn't really used to people complementing her and for once, she didn't know how to handle it.
Thankfully Abel turned the subject back to something that was more in her comfort-zone; discussing the relationship of Elin and Leif.
"I guess we'll see what’s going to happen between them at the party," she said. She suspected that something more was going on between the two of them. It would make things quite interesting since Elin had a boyfriend. Maybe it would be better for both of them if nothing happened, because she had the feeling that Val wouldn't be happy. And as Lyra knew something more than the others about the hot, but very creepy guy, she wasn't going to stay around when his true nature came out.
"Elin has quite a busy life though, besides her relationship with Val, she also has Reed walking after her like a lovesick puppy. Adding Leif to that mix would be.. a bit much, right?"
To be honest, she had no idea if Reed really liked Elin, but she couldn't stand him and portraying him like this was.. satisfactory. Besides, hopefully it helped Abel relax, because even though she didn't know the reason why, she had noticed his concern on the matter.

When time and life shook hands and said goodbye.

    L E I F      NÆSHEIM

    17 — Courtyard; outside — Elin (Lyra & Abel)

Leif got up and began walking towards the door. He stopped for a moment to check if Elin was coming and when he knew she was, he walked straight to the lockers in the hallway. It was flipping freezing outside, so a pitstop at his locker for a coat seemed like a good idea. And of course, he couldn't forget his cigarettes. Instead of waiting for Elin to get to her locker and put on some more clothes, he threw her a big jumper and a scarf of his — even though she was already wearing a jumper — and waited until she was ready.
"Isn't it a social prerequisite you go with your boyfriend, though?" He asked her, continuing the conversation. He knew he sounded more bitter than he had intended, but he just couldn't help it. That guy just got on Leifs nerves like no other. He mashed his locker closed, put his hands in his pockets and walked outside. "Regardless you can do whatever you want to do, of course."
It became clear quite quickly that they weren't the only ones who had wanted to go outside; Leif noticed Lyra and Abel sitting on a bench a few meters down the courtyard. Leif couldn't help but frown. It seemed a little silly to think his partner was following him or checking up on him, yet the thought did cross his mind for a few seconds. Especially when he caught the last few words coming from Lyra's mouth. They were definitely talking about him and Elin, and that was something Leif didn't need.
He lighted a cigarette and marched over to them with a hint of a smile. "Miss Moreau," he greeted Lyra. "I will no doubt be seeing you tonight?" He waited for her to answer and then moved his attention to Abel. "Can I loan that black shirt of yours tonight? I frankly don't own any party-appropriate clothing."

Rose ignored his demand completely. Ofcourse she should eat something, but that's her decision to make. It was her choice. She was the one in control. Luckily, Reed's laughter stopped her tensing up and she relaxed again. At least there was someone who appreciated her company.
"Great to know, maybe that is missing in my project I am currently working on. I already thought it could be a bit more spicy," he answered. The image that popped up in her head, vampires screaming and burning in a river of tomatoe sauce, made her laugh again and she didn't even mind the bump against her shoulder. It was a small victory.
"I think I am going for the spicy chicken wings, the mashed potatoes and the daily vegetables."
"Potatoes and the daily vegetables," she said simultaneously. "You eat that every day. Where's the danger? Where's the risk?" she teased. Her smile fell when he asked her about the party. It was something she had been looking out to as soon as she moved to the building for the older students. Everyone did. But now... she couldn't get close to any boy, or her life would get even worse, and she couldn't drink, because she didn't want to do something stupid. On the other hand, she didn't look forward to spend the night all on her own either.
"Are you?" she asked. What she really meant was: "Only if you're going and I can stay close to you the entire time." but she had no idea how to ask him without being creepy or getting him worried. She just didn't want to end up all alone, even if she did go to the event.

    19 ➵ Returning from a hunt ➵ Hallway ➵ Réka

"Fine. I just finished my homework," Réka answered. She didn't seem very happy to see him, but he didn't give a fuck about that. When he just met her, she hadn't liked him because she didn't know him. Now she didn't like him because she knew him. He wasn't stupid, he had realised that ages ago. Weirdly enough, it didn't bother him at all. Sometimes he just really didn't feel like faking that helping hand and it was nice to have someone who wouldn't buy it anyways. So surely enough, his answer wasn't very polite. It almost never was talking to Réka.
"Where have you been?" she asked. He cocked his eyebrow and his facial expression was for once the exact representation of what he was thinking.
"Eating my girlfriend's snatch while she was on her period. What the fuck does it look like?" he said, while gesturing to his outfit. He was sweating peas, so he zipped down his coat, dropped it on the floor and bent down to pick it up. Even his shirt underneath was soaked in blood, as it had spilled through the openings.
"I was on a hunt the past three days. You didn't miss me?" he asked, although he already knew the answer. "Did anything interesting happen?" He knew there was the annual party that evening and ofcourse he was planning on going, since he had been one of the main organizers, but he hadn't been able to catch up. He liked to know if something had come inbetween or not.

    REED KEENAN JONES

    Canadian ▼ 18 ▼ Cafeteria ▼ Rose

The corners of his lips curled up when hearing her laugh; she didn’t laugh often, but he hadn’t forget the sound of it. Reed was outgoing and could be very impulsive, but details never slipped his mind. He was an observer and always has been, but not an obvious one. Even though he was an observer, it wasn’t a necessary skill to recognize the change in Rose her behaviour. However, Reed could shut his mouth just in time, before a comment that could’ve been perceived negatively would have slipped through about this matter.
’Potatoes and the daily vegetables. You eat that every day. Where’s the danger? Where’s the risk?’ Reed let out a soft chuckle after which he shook his head with a satisfied smile. It was as if she knew he liked taking risks. However, food was not on that list; especially the food from the cafeteria.
’Apparently, standing in this queue already comes with danger.’ Reed pointed his head towards the place where she held her knife and gave her a teasing smile. ‘Besides, I would never take the risk of killing my taste buds. How will I ever enjoy another spicy chicken wing?’
The three daily moments to eat, moments he normally tried to minimize to two, were times where he was not forced to think about anything. He took enough risks during the day and therefore, enjoyed his meals the most when it was most likely the same as the days before. This was, he was not obligated to think about the possible meal he could eat without killing of his taste buds.
’Are you?’ Rose reflected the questions right back as he asked her, instead of giving him a simple ‘yes’ or ‘no’, but he didn’t mind.
’Obviously, Rose, how can you even doubt that?’ He received his plate and politely thanked the woman behind the counter. For a moment, he imagined what it would be like for him to stand behind that counter and provide everyone with food on a daily basis. Frankly, it made him feel disgusted. Clearly not meant for him, not that he wanted it to be.
          ‘No party without a Jones.’
Reed brought his eyes back to hers and gave her a small grin followed by a wink. His sister was the same age as Rose and there was no doubt that she did not know her. Although he was slightly hesitating whether she knew they were a family or not as Raven and Reed did not hang out that often.
