Chapter 3

“Bruce, careful, not too fast!” Sean both tried to ran after his brother and to be silent, in which he didn’t succeed very well. Bruce stopped at once and turned around. “What’s wrong with you man!” Bruce said with a straight face. Sean, not prepared on such a fast stop, tried to avoid a collision with his brother. He dodged to the left, but saw too late his fault and collapsed on a tree. He could just suppress a cry of pain when a branch punched him in his stomach. He fell on the ground, all the air smashed out of his lungs. “Bruce, what the hell are you doing! You run away for me, and then just stop, so that I collapse on a tree. What…” Sean stopped when he saw Bruce’s face. It had changed from straight to furious. “Sean, listen.” Bruce had whispered, but his words were clearly hearable, like they were the only sound on earth. “You say I’m wild, I’m misguided, I’m unthinking, you keep telling me what to do. Stop with it, or I’ll get back home right now. Don’t think I won’t, I do it if it’s necessary! I’m done with it!”. Sean, still on the ground from his collapse with the tree, stared with open mouth to his brother. Another surprise, but this one came on the wrong moment. Worse timing almost wasn’t possible, now that they had to work together as a team. “Bruce, listen to me. I didn’t mean it like that, man, it’s just that I’m tightened about this. Please, man! I’m sorry.” He tried to stand up, but an awful pain in his belly pushed him down to the ground. “Please, help me up.” Bruce, immediately back to his role as brother, lifted him up on his feet. “Can you stand yourself?” he said with a worried look in his eyes. “I think I’ll can, but I need to rest a few minutes before I can continue” Sean leaned on the tree he just bounced with, trying to stand on his feet. Bruce kept close to him, ready to catch him when it would go wrong, but Sean up. “We need to make a new plan, we’re not going to make it like this” Bruce said. Sean nodded. “Good idea. What do you have in mind?”
Catrina had heard them after one or two minutes walking. They had stand there, arguing with each other. One, the tallest, had fallen on the ground, and insinuated that the forest had turned against them. ‘Wouldn’t be bad’ she had thought. But, like the other one had said, that would be stupid. After a few words, the tallest had continued walking, or more running. The other one had stand there, with his mouth open, before he had turned around and ran after his brother. He obviously tried to be silent, in which he completely didn’t succeed. Then, at once, the first one had turned around. His brother, what Catrina thought he was, had seen it too late, and smashed on a tree. Again an argument. ‘Would Harry already waked up John’ she thought. Without his permission she wasn’t allowed to show herself, unless it was absolutely necessary. But the guys had approached the campsite less than 50 meters, which was far too close. At once she heard something behind her. “Sst, it’s us” Harry came out from the bushes, followed by John. “Finally” Catrina whispered “They have approached the campsite far too close. We need to stop them immediately!” John looked worried. “Are you sure they are here for us?” he asked. “Yes, I heard them talk about it” she replied. John sighed. “Well, right. Listen, this is what we’re going to do”
