File one Katarina’s journey to past and future

“Our journey started where all journeys start a visit to the oracle”: I begin and immediately I have everybody’s attention even the Ares kids. “My prophecy went like this ‘Water and earth should go together. They shall pass high skies and stormy weather. Water will go through a terrible change and Earth will find out what faith as arranged’. Percy was clearly the Water that was spoken off”: I continue. I tell everything from flying away from camp, falling out of the sky, Percy’s change, the gypsy’s, Timber, the restaurant, Céva, the tunnels, the weird couple, finding Artemis. Then comes the conversation I had with Artemis in her tent. I take a deep breath and start to tell about a young couples love that grew into doubt, insecurity and violence. I also tell them about my mother’s happy ending because the gods don’t show kindness that much, so I think they need to know about this one.
When I stop talking everybody applauses for me and the flames of the bonfire go higher. Dad comes towards me and hugs me. “I am so sorry for you”: he says, “Why I got one awesome dad in return”. He laughs and together we sit down. The other Apollo kids take the stage now and start to sing and dance. It sounds very happy the rest sings along but I don’t know these songs even dad knows them. But he is an Apollo kid that went here so it’s understandable. Its allot of fun and we get s’ mores.

After the bonfire Rachel comes to me, “Thanks for keeping your promise”: she says. “You doubted then?”: I ask her. “I am the oracle, I know more than people think. I forsaw that you were going to accept the pledge but I never saw you coming back”. “That’s kind of cool and sucky at the same time”: I say and she nods. Together we walk to the cabins while talking. We stop for Artemis her cabin which glows silver in the moon light. “You are not so horrible as everybody always says about Huntress”: says Rachel. “You’re not bad yourself Rachel”. “Bye Katarina”: Rachels says and hugs me. “Bye Rachel”: I say and she walks away while I walk inside of the cabin.
On one of the beds sits somebody, “June, what are you doing here”: I say surprised . “What about one last sleepover”: she says and holds up our sleepover stuff, which means popcorn, M&M’s and a few horror movies. “Official we are not allowed to have technology but you and I are no demigods so we can’t attract monsters. And I had to talk to a lot of people before I had permission to stay one night in this cabin. But my best friend is leaving”: she rumbles. “Oh June come here”: I say and hug her. Then we throw some blankets and pillows on the floor to lie on, portable DVD player in front of us and popcorn / M&M’s in one bowl next to us. We start with 13 Sins. As always we both hid behind our pillows but still enjoy the movie. Halfway through the second movie Odd Thomas I fall asleep and for the first time in a long time it’s a dreamless sleep.

I wake up just before sunrise because I felt the moon go down like always. June is still asleep on the floor in the little blanket hole she made. I be as quite as possible and clean around her, when I am almost done she wakes up. “Morning June”: I say. “Morning Kat, why didn’t you woke me. I could have helped you clean”. “Because the last few times I woke you went so well”: I say sarcastically, she giggles when she thinks back at what I mean. She stands up and brushes of the dirt that isn’t there and helps me put the last blankets back where they belong. Because this cabin isn’t used much it must be spotless when we leave.
Which it is when the breakfast horn sounds.
“Artemis gave me three days before I have to return I can use these other two days for traveling”: I think out loud when I close the cabin door. “Where is she then?”: June asks. “Gwaii Haanas National Park, it’s in Canada”. “How are you going back walking would take you weeks?”. “Percy said I could lend a pegasus again if everything is alright Brody and Blackjack can come back any moment. They could help him pick a pegasus willing to help me”. “Aha”: she mumbles. “June you will be alright without me, you have awesome friends and Grover looks like a caring boyfriend”. “Yes but nobody knew me like you did”. “That’s because I knew you when you weren't green”, she laughs at my answer.

We arrive at the dinning pavilion where I take place at table eight alone. I throw, like everybody, part of my food in the fire and thank all the gods even Zeus because he allowed Percy to change back. While I eat I look around. Percy sits with Tyson his Cyclops brother, many tables are full of laughing and eating people, my dad looks happy between the Apollo kids, a few tables are empty and only one other table has only one boy at it. Chris from the Hermes table sees me looking at him and mimics something with his mouth I think he says Nico, the boy who made the gab in the floor. I smile lightly at Chris suddenly it feels kind off wrong probably because I swore off men.
After breakfast Percy comes towards me, “Drew told me that Blackjack and Brody are back are you wanna check it out”. “Absolutely I want to go home”: I say and for the first time it feels really like I am going home. I say goodbye to my dad, June, Tyson and the Hermes campers I spend half a day with. Percy and I walk towards the stables, where Brody is more than happy to fly me back. I tell him he is insane after just returning but Percy says he insists. So I feed Brody three sugar cubes, say goodbye to Percy and that’s how my journey started with my new family.
