23-year-old Nicklas Bendtner has discovered that there are more important things in life than football, so he probably stays away from this summer’s European Championships for Under-21 national teams.
That the European Championship is played on home ground in Denmark does not alter his decision.
- I just got a son that I haven’t seen so much, because we play so much and we’re always at the hotel, he explained to TV2’s “Hutlihut” ahead of Tuesday’s friendly game against Slovakia with the A-team.
Nicklas Bendtner also miss the family in Denmark and are therefore reluctant to sacrifice his summer holidays to play football at a youth nationalteam, which probably would not be able to turn the fire in the ambitious star striker from Arsenal.
- In my family we have five children and two other children going to school, even during the final rounds, so it’s not possible for them to travel and see me when I play in Denmark, he said, adding:
- I may end up with a very, very short vacation instead of getting one month to really bond with my son and see my family that I do not see that much in everyday life.
