Cotton candy

The sunset painted her rosy
the red beams of the last daylight
played with her hair
made it look like straws of cotton candy

She sat on the edge of the cliff
dangling her bare feet
and I watched her while she
threw rocks down

Light-hearted she let them slip
through her fingers
"Would it hurt to crash on the water?"

She asked
as if the glimmering surface
flirted with her
wanted her to come down

"Of course it would" I muttered
she didn't hear
i'd rather break her body
than her dreams

But the sun finally disappeared
and the casanova down the cliff
lost its mesmerizing powers

So did her hair
