[EN] Good night
Oliver wasn’t entirely certain what it was that had woken him up, but he was absolutely positive that it had to be much, much too early to be so light. He blinked a few times, still half asleep, and noticed that although the room actually wasn’t even lit all that brightly, he was still right. The light wasn’t natural, but magical; Percy was sitting in the rocking chair in the corner of their room, reading some book or other by the light of his wand. He didn’t seem to notice Oliver had awakened until Oliver yawned.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you,” Percy told him softly, his face barely visible in the dim light. “Just go back to sleep. I’ll join you in a moment.”
It was tempting, but Oliver knew he wouldn’t be able to simply close his eyes and drift off again. He shook off a little of the overwhelming sleepiness and propped himself up on one elbow to avoid having to twist his neck just to see Percy. He frowned, still feeling pleasantly drowsy, but a tad worried about Percy. “Have you slept at all?”
“Not yet,” Percy admitted.
“Can’t that book wait ‘til tomorrow?”
Percy slowly shook his head. “It’s really-”
“Yes, I know it’s important,” Oliver gently interrupted him. “Everything you do is important. But it’s still no reason you should walk around like a zombie for the next couple of days. ‘Sides,” he added, when it looked like Percy was still about to protest, “you wouldn’t want to feel guilty about keeping me up.”
“I’m sorry if it’s too bright. I’ll go sit in the living room next time.”
“That’s not what I meant, silly. Can’t sleep without you next to me.”
Percy was silent for a few seconds, but then he closed his book and got up out of his chair. “Nox.”
The light faded and the room was suddenly pitch black, but Oliver smiled and fell back on his pillow. He felt the bed dip and heard the sheets rustle as Percy climbed in. His eyes slowly grew accustomed to the darkness, so he could make out general forms. He shifted a little closer to Percy and felt around for his hand.
“You’re ice cold.”
“Hm,” Percy hummed. “You’re warm.” He tangled his legs with Oliver’s and Oliver moved to make him more comfortable, though he hissed.
“I was warm. Can I throw you out of bed again?”
Oliver felt rather than heard Percy chuckle. “I’m never leaving. You’re stuck with me.”
“Well, I guess it’s not all bad,” Oliver admitted.
“I love you,” Percy murmured.
Oliver closed his eyes, smiling. “Love you, too.”
