II. Leo
‘Burn him!’ I heard a woman say. ‘In name of our queen Elizabeth we declare that thou be burnt!’ I sighed.
‘Jeez brother can’t you stay out of trouble?’ I said while walking towards the stage where I saw the fat man from earlier today and my brother, on his knees, right in front of him. I ran up the stairs and stood in front of my brother, my arms spread. Furiously I looked into the eyes of the fat man.
‘STOP!’ I yelled. ‘This man isn’t a witch! Are you seriously THAT stupid? Witches are women! Not men. So why would you attack him? Did he do anything wrong? NO! He scared you, which I get… Because, well just look at him!’ ‘HEY!’ my brother yelled. ‘Shut up Leo! But that’s not a reason to kill him! Right?’ The fat man backed off a little bit.
‘She’s a witch too! Get her!’ He then suddenly yelled. ‘You are in violation of the Elizabethan Witchcraft act.’ I sighed and grabbed the knife I held in my pocket. I cut the ropes around the hands of Leo, grabbed him and ran away, towards a dark alley.
‘She seems… Interesting.’ The Doctor mumbled from the corner of a street in Leicester Square.
Out of breath Leo and I finally reached our home. I locked the doors and windows and made sure we were alone.
‘What did you DO?!?’ I yelled at Leo. ‘You didn’t drink-’
‘NO!’ He shouted. ‘I searched for information. Just asking away in the city. Seems there has been another murder.’ He walked towards the bookcase and grabbed a small book with a black cover. In neat golden words it said: Vampire legends. He threw the book at me, I caught it perfectly, laid it down on my lap and started searching for the right chapter. ‘The poor boy will be buried in an hour.’ He said while shaking his head, his half long, dark red hair shining in the lights of our candles. ‘We have to be there before the sun sets… But this weird man stopped me from asking on. That fat man ya’ know? Well he thought I’m a witch… So weird!’ I looked up.
‘That man tried to kill me too!’ I said.
‘How long until… You know?’ Leo curiously asked. He clearly loved this. I sighed
‘Only a few hours… But, this guy, we’ve been tracking him for days, he kills so much and yet he never shows up. Why?’ I stood up and pushed the book into Leos hands. I walked towards our large windows and slowly looked through the curtains. ‘There’s no crowd. They’ve gone, so we can go to the funeral, right?’ I grabbed my coat and opened the locks on the door. I looked outside, a bit shaky, but there was nobody.
‘Yeah… Lemme get my coat.’ Irritated I looked back.
‘You didn’t have it with you when you went researching?’ I slapped my face with the palm of my hand. ‘Stupid brother! What if he did show up?’
‘Yeah, yeah, jeez sis, don’t be such a sourpuss!’ He laughed while walking down the stairs towards his room.
‘HURRY UP!!!’ I yelled while opening the door. ‘I’m leaving!’ In a second he stood next to me. ‘Where do we go?’ I asked quickly.
‘Trafalgar Square, Hyde park graveyard. Not so very far from here.’ He smiled, grabbed my arm and we ran off.
