“Airadan, would you please hurry up?” “Yes, yes, just give me a second!” “Just hurry up, we need to get out of here!” “Okay, done, where are we going?” “Anywhere except Strathomance, now go!”
The night was dark, darker than usual. The city of Gildwel was deserted. Last night, something unimaginable happened. Humans arrived. For the first time this era, humans visited Gildwel. It was predicted that when the humans would return, peace would return as well. But it didn’t turn out to be that way. On the last day of firith, the humans came and burned Gildwel to the ground. Airadan and Sidhlairiel were amongst the few survivors.
“Sidh’, could you pass me some of the lembas?” Airadan asked. “Go get it yourself,” she replied with a frown. Airadan struggled to get back on his feet. He walked to the tent they had set up and searched in one of the few satchels. “Last piece,” he said quietly. “Don’t worry; there will be plenty of food tomorrow. If you’re willing to move a little faster than today,” Sidhlairiel said. “Of course, we’ve been living of lembas for almost a week now. I could sure use a nice meal,” Airadan said and walked back to the campfire. “So, where are we going?” Airadan asked. “We’re going to the nearest town, Fulramoc. The people there owe me a favor.” Sidhlairiel answered. Airadan looked up, “what did you do?” “I took care of a dragon problem,” she replied. Airadan looked amazed, “dragons? I thought they were extinct ages ago?” “Apparently not, it was long ago, though,” she said. “How long ago was it?” Airadan asked---
