ALS JE NIET VAN ZIELIGE VERHALEN HOUDT LEES HET DAN NIET, TOT NU TOE IS HET NIET BEPAALT VROLIJK!!

It’s been already a week since Emma ‘’freaked out’’ in class and ran away, she didn’t went to school for 2 days after ‘that day.’ The third day she was really afraid of going back to school but the other kids just thought she got sick and they already forgot about it. Only Joan still keeps an eye on Emma because she realizes there is something behind everything what happened. Joan doesn’t know why Emma transferred in, nor she knows why Emma what so upset last week, but she does know something’s wrong. She was Emma’s first friend on this school and the only one Emma let her guard a bit down for.
During recess Joan tries to get Emma talk about it again.

‘’Emma, please tell me what’s wrong. Why’d you ran away last week, you weren’t sick weren’t you ? ‘’
Emma signs, she has no choice… once she has to tell everything. ‘’Not now Joan. ‘’she says. ‘’ Everyone can hear us here in the canteen, I don’t want that… You know what, come with me after school, I’ll tell it you at my home. ‘’

‘’RIIIING!!’’
‘’Ha! Finally, lessons are over’’ yawns someone. Emma has to admit she’s glad too, at Monday they have biology and physics. She hates these subjects. She throws her bag over her shoulder and waits for Joan, who’s asking the teacher something.
‘’Ahh, I’m so glad, the teacher gave me permission, so I can follow physics next year too! ‘’ Says Joan.
‘’I don’t get why you’re so glad about that, it’s damn difficult and really stupid.’’
‘’Hmm? You think so ? I think it’s interesting and useful, I mean, buildings would collapse without these Beta subjects, and we wouldn’t be able to move such heavy things like really big stones or a container with steal.’’
‘’yeah… You’re right. But still it’s really difficult and stupid. ‘’
‘’Ha, but that’s just your- HOLY SHIT!! WHAT’S GOING ON HERE?! ‘’
A little boy, who was standing on his toes, trying to see anything, turns around and starts to explain.
‘’You know those two kids who have a handicap and are in a wheelchair? Their racing through the corridors. ‘’
‘’you mean Tina and… what was his name, Harry ? ‘’ asks Emma..
‘’Yes they- oh there they come!’’ the boy turns around again and is so concentrated in the race that is seems like he already forgot about the two girls behind him.
Joan signs. ‘’Something like this seriously can only happen in our school… Come on, let’s take the west stairs, I think they’ll only race in the east and north parts of the building, these are directly connected and there’s the most space for wheelchairs.’’ She takes Emma’s arm and pulls her to the other side of the corridor.

‘’Oh, I totally forgot about that… It’s Monday, I need to pick up Ashley from school. Do you mind? You can come with me another day too.’’ Says Emma. Joan takes her bike and walks back to Emma. ‘’I don’t mind if you need to pick up your sister.’’
They walk about 10 minutes in silence, when they arrive at the primary school Ashley’s on.
Emma looks around, searching for Ashley, but she doesn’t see her. She walks up to a classmate and asks if he knows where she is but he didn’t see her. A bit concerned she waves Joan to follow her and enters the building. ‘’Something’s wrong?’’ Joan asks. ‘’Hmm… Dunno, but I don’t have a good feeling…’’ Emma mumbles.
Room A, B, C… They walk past the classrooms and stop at room F, the room from Ashley’s class. Just when Emma wants to open the door she realizes she’s hearing something.
‘’Wait, do you hear that? ‘’ Emma asks.
‘’What, I hear nothing’’ answers Joan.
‘’That sound, it sounds almost like… Like someone’s crying!’’ Emma walks to the stairs at the end of the corridor and looks down. Shocked the looks at someone halfway up the stairs. It’s Ashley, she’s crying, has a few scratches and her arm is in an unnatural position…
