“Now?!” I couldn’t believe what he’d just said. Now? Right now?
“Yes. Moira, stay back, I’m going to have to bite him. You’ll have to help me cover.” Carlisle said, tremble in his voice. I saw Carlisle whisper a few words in Edwards ear, and then bite his neck. I saw blood, and venom, and a whole lot of cuts and teeth. I almost fainted. Edward screamed in agony as Carlisle held to his head to keep him from turning away from Carlisle’s head. I turned my head away, but I was sure that the expression on Edward’s face will be burnt inside my memory for ever. Sweating, eyes and mouth wide-open as he screamed and struggled against Carlisle’s venom and teeth. I cried, tears falling down from my cheeks as I looked back at Edward after I realized these might be the only moments in my life that I would see his face again, even if it were in agony.
Carlisle let go, and rubbed of his mouth quickly. He took some water, frowned at the taste that must’ve been terrible for him and rinsed the blood out of his mouth, spitting it into a little sink nearby. Edward was still screaming.
“Edward, Edward, dear, I’m here. I’m here with you. Shhhh.” I began soothing him, even though I knew it was hopeless. I took his hand and rubbed it as he squeezed, a little too tightly.
“Stay away. We have to run out the hospital. Go to this address, I’ll run faster, come to me as fast as you can.” He rushed, as he held up Edward and I opened the door for him. Carlisle balanced Edward on one arm for a second and gave me the address. I nodded and in a flash he was gone, Edward together with him. My body suddenly weighed more than my feet could take, and I fell to the floor.
