What Would You Do?
“Please, Carlisle, please.” I touched his arm, but didn’t once flinch as I felt how cold he was. I started shaking it, begging him to listen to me.
“You don’t have to be alone, Carlisle, here is your chance. I know you aren’t that selfish, but you must admit, there’s only good sides in this argument of mine. He’ll live, with you, an excellent man, and knowing that his mother and father loved him.”
“He’ll live alone, like I have done for the past centuries.”
“He’ll have you! He’ll have me and Edward Sr. and Elizabeth in his heart! Yes, he may get bored after a long time of immortality, but if you look at it real good, he can live the rest of his life. The life he was supposed to have! Just please, Carlisle!”
Carlisle looked at me, heartbreaking expression on his face, but I stayed firm. I’d do anything for Edward. He sighed, and asked me one more time.
“Do you really want this?”
“If it were your loved one sitting there dying on a hospital bed with one shot to make her come back, wouldn’t you want it to happen?”
