Sun had lost sight of Jae and JC almost as soon as they arrived at the party. Giselle, the German girl who had insisted she’d come, was nowhere to be seen either. Though, for all she knew they could be standing only a few metres away. Unfortunately for her – one could debate how unfortunate it actually was – most of her view existed of male chests and female shoulders. An endless wall of fabric, skin and bodies. ‘’I really should've worn those heels,’’ she muttered at herself, annoyed.
The crowd was a colourbomb of people, looking like a cheerful bouquet of spring flowers. Bright yellow. Deep violets. Electric blue. Soft pink. It's not a black-and-white party. It's very much different and more original. It's a colour-party! You can only wear one colour, preferably all the same shade, and you also need an accessory. Otherwise you cannot enter.. She wasn't sure if Giselle liked very strict dress codes or if she was just German. Maybe both. Giselle was so excited, nearly vibrating with enthusiasm, for it that Sun just went along.
Few things excited rich kids, who can get everything they want, more than secret parties in forbidden areas of your school. Nearly the entire studentbody was there, by the looks and smell of. The lights were low and the flashing strobes did not help Sun much in the quest to find her friends.
Sun had not thought through her own accessory. It was also the only thing she was able to get her hands on so last minute. The white angelwings on her back made it near impossible to move through the crowd. The only option was careful shuffling, paired with a lot of excuse me's and sorry's. For the sake of her sanity, she assumed all the touching hands were accidental. As always with events like these, the back of her neck prickled with slight discomfort, hyperaware of everything around her.
When she finally managed to find some breathing space for herself, a little ways out of the throng of people, she felt like she had run a marathon. The air at the edge of the room was only slightly less suffocating, but at least she could breathe without someone’s elbow digging into her ribs. Her dark hair was all tangled up in her wings. The more Sun tried to get her locks loose, the worse it got, even up to a point that bracelet got caught up in the mess as well, rendering her left hand immobile.
Her eyes fell on a tall guy she recognised from one of classes earlier that week. Sun gently touched his arm. ‘’Hi! Sorry to ask. Could you maybe help with…’’ She gestured at her bracelet-wings-hair situation. ‘’I've made a bit of a mess of myself.’’ Never a better way to introduce yourself to someone while lowkey looking like a lunatic, with bright red cheeks that were no longer only flushed because of the heat.
