Chapter 26

From his balcony you could see the woods and if you looked further, you could see the beach. To the side you could see his back porch and the swimming-pool. I stood there against the railing on the balcony in summer air, taking in the view. I felt Jared wrap his arms around me and kiss my hair. We haven’t known eachother for that long and still many have happend in that small period of time. But what I’ve learned from Jared is to just accept the world as it is for you. I have friends, a great mom, I have Jared and that’s all it takes for me to live my life the way I want to. Feeling his arms around me makes me feel complete and happy as I ever could be. I can’t imagine how it would feel if he left. We’re like Romeo and Juliet. Well.. not really. I’m sure none of us dies in the end. I’m hoping one day he’ll ask me to marry him and we’ll have a family together and at the end, we die together old.
‘’Whatcha thinking about?’’ he whispers in my ear.
‘’About you, mainly. About us.’’ I respond. I turn around and kiss him. His fingers touch my cheek and his arm holds me close. My hands hold his face as our lips move in perfect synchronisation. The sun was shooting sunbeams from high in the sky and the pool seemed tempting at this point. He pulled away gently and looked at me.
‘’Feel like going for a swim?’’ he suggested as if reading my mind. I smiled.
