Chapter Three
Zoë and Amy walked up towards the school and their other friends, who were waiting at their bench. Zoë saw that Daphne and Wendell were a bit busy with catching up, those two were a couple since Freshman year and never been apart except for last summer, because Daphne did some volunteering at a women’s shelter in Africa. Zoë softly chuckled when she saw Chris and Quinten gagging at the sight of the two lovebirds.
“Heyya Zoë, Amy” Chris and Quinten said at the same time. “Hey boys. How was your summer?” “Awful” Chris sighed, “This stupid twin of mine decided to fall in love with a girl at the resort and forgot his own brother the whole summer”. “I did not forgot you bro, I just took a break from you” Quinten explained. Zoë chuckled at the two of them squabble. They always made her laugh, because they always were trying to provoke each other and it was just funny to see. Suddenly Zoë felt two arms wrap around her en by the feeling of it she knew it was her other best friend Becca.
“Hiyaah girl!” she squealed while hugging her properly. “Hey Becs” Zoë hugged her friend back. “You okay?” Becca whispered for only her to hear. Zoë nodded and forced a smile.
It was not that she wasn’t okay, but sometimes she just got these shivers this time a year and a feeling that made her a bit down. But she guessed it was normal.
“Becs, Becs, Becca, she’s coming her dad allowed it!! Can you believe it. Yaayy!” Amy almost screamed. “Really? He was okay with it?” Becca questioned Zoë. “Yeah, he was, but he wants to drive us.. And.. hey wait a second! Amy! you said you had no one to go with?” Zoë turned towards Amy. “Ehm.. yeah well Becs is coming, but I knew that if you knew I wasn’t going alone you would have never asked your dad and I really, really, really wanted you to go with us, because you just deserve to have an awesome Senior year.” “Ugh.. Fine then.” Zoë sighed. She knew there was no way to get out of it. “Yaayy!” Becca and Amy cheered together. “Zoë this is amazing. We are going to have an amazing year.” Becca squealed. Zoë smiled at her, but she couldn’t help the chills running down her spine.
