When Revaa walked into the Great Hall, her mouth fell open. No wonder is was called the Great Hall. It was great, huge even. She heard a girl talking; “It’s bewitched to look like the sky outside, I read about it in Hogwarts: A History”. Revaa looked to the ceiling to see what the girl was talking about. It was like there was no end and no beginning to where the castle’s wall stoppped and the sky began. Amazed with this look she almost bumped in the person in front of her. Professor McGonagall came walking with a stool and a old ragged hat. Revaa looked at the hat and it suddenly began to sing.

“Oh, you may not think I’m pretty,
But don’t jugde on what you see,
I’ll eat myself if you can find
A smarter hat than me.
You can keep your bowlers black,
Your top hats sleek and tall,
For i’m the Hogwarts Sorting Hat
And I can cap them all.
There’s nothing hidden in your head
The Sorting Hat can’t see,
So try me on and I will tell you
Where you ought to be.
You might belong in Gryffindor,
Where dwell the brave at heart,
Their daring, nerve and chivalry
Set Gryffindors apart;
You might belong in Hufflepuff,
Where they are just and loyal,
Those patient Hufflepuffs are true
And unafraid of toil;
Or yet in wise old ravenclaw,
If you’ve a ready mind,
Where those of wit and learning,
Will always find their kind;
Or perhaps in Slytherin
You’ll make your real friends,
Those cunning folk use any means
To achieve their ends.
So put me on! Don’t be afraid!
And don’t get in a flap!
You’re in safe hands (though I have none)
For I’m a Thinking Cap!”

The students burst into applause, Revaa got even more nervous. She started to look around for a helpfull sight of someone and almost gave a load squeal. The man in the middle of the teacher table, obviously the Headmaster, was her trainer for five years. She learned to control the elements thanks to the man sitting there. It was strange to see Albus sitting that way, she knew him differently. Professor McGonagall spoke again.
“If I call your name you come forward and I’ll put the Sorting Hat on you’re head. When you’re sorted in a house. Leave the hat for the next person and sit at the table of your house. I’ll start first with the wizards and witches, then I’ll name the Elementals”
Revaa looks at Professor Dumbledore anxious, he looks back with a soothing smile. Though this soothed her in the slightest, she couldn’t help but worrying.
Every time when a first years was sorted, the house tables would cheer as loudly as they could. Especially the Gryffindors were good at this.
When she read the last first year, who became a Slytherin, she rolled up the parchment put it in her robes and took another out of her robes, unrolled it and began; “And now for the Elementals; Alvingham, Cherry!” A girl with long, curly red hair walked towards the stool and put the hat on; it screamed almost a second after that; “GRYFFINDOR!”. With a very pleased smile she seated herself with the rest of the Gryffindors. Revaa sighted, well if it go’s on alphabetical order, at least she will be sorted fast and got it over with it but to her suprise, when Professor McGonagall called the next person it was already past the B and there were a lot of Elementals already seated. It shocked her; maybe she wasn’t on the list? Maybe she never was? Fear is taking over her and looked at Dumbledore for help but her merely smiled and winked at her.
“Spaulding, Bree!” and a pretty looking girl, walked up to the stool and seated. Her dark brown hair was beautiful woven in a braid so it looked like she was wearing a crown. Her bright green eyes disappeared under the Sorting Hat. Next thing the Hat cried the words; “Slytherin” and the Slytherin table cheered and people were standing up to shook her hand as she approached the table.
“Vexx, Dasha” said Professor McGonagall and the last girl puts the Sorting Hat on her head. Her long blonde hair touched the ground as she was seated on the stool. The Hat yelled; “Gryffindor” and the girl put of the Hat and walked happily towards her new house.
And there she was, alone but professor McGonagall looked at her and simply said: “Blackmore, Revaa”
With wobbly legs Revaa walked up to the stool, seated on it and put the Hat on her head. The Great Hall vanished and it was black before her eyes. A small voice in her head started talking; “You want to know why you’re last?”
“Well, yes” answered Revaa anxious and unsure.
“Of course you want to know, well you see. You’re a Alrum Elemental. Therefore I cannot put in a house. You’ve the qualities of every house, bravery, loyalty, wise and cunning. We waited untill everyone was sorted, so I can ask you in which house you would be in or I’ll put you in the house with the least Elementals. It’s your choice.”
Revaa didn’t expect a treatment like this, she thought; is there a house she’ll like to be in? Revaa didn’t like choosing, she always avoided it.
“I’ll choose the last choice, that’ll you put me in one” she said back to the Hat.
“Alright then” said the Hat and when she heard his voice again he was shouting through the Great Hall:
“SLYTHERIN!”
