10 years - Danny Edge
There is this boy called Danny Edge. He has a Youtube channel with his best friend Paul Zimmer. He not only gives advice video's, but he also makes you feel good about yourself. I'm subscribed to their channel for a while now and I always watch to their videos with a big idiot smile on my face. But today Danny posted a video with a message. And I thought that everyone needs to hear/read it.
‘I can’t stop you from hurting yourself, but I can try.’
You feel like you’re alone, like no one out there cares. You’re always on your own, why is no one ever there?
Go 10 years ahead and take a look back. What would you think of those asshole attacks, why did I take it and let them hurt me? Why did I just fake it and not let them just see? ‘Cause smiles can be fake and words aren’t just words. Underneath your heartache you just want to be heard. But you kept your mouth shut, with a smile glued to your face. You let it build up. You thought that was your place. But what bottles up will always break open. If love is in the air and you were constantly chopping. So you took the blade or the toilet or worse, because maybe if I change I won’t be stuck with the curse. So you punished yourself to trying to please them. The people who laughed and threw dirt on a gem. And you look to yourself and you thought you were the issue, because if no one really cares how can anyone miss you?
Now come back to the present and look what’s ahead. Because 10 years from now on this path, you may be dead. But don’t let go, don’t give up, and don’t let them win. Don’t give them the dissatisfaction of controlling your actions for another minute. Because as long you’re listen to my humble advice. This world is filled with more than bad people. There is so much to experience, create, take and give. And if you’re listening now, I want to tell you to live, because living like this, isn’t life at all. Trying to stand, just to fall to a crawl. Weather it’s scars or your weight or something else on the surface. You need to comprehend, you’re not worthless. If you listen to them, you can listen to mer. Just put down the blade and set yourself free.
You may think you’re alone. Because there is no one you see, but internet friends are real too and there’s me. So next time you feel worthless or sad or depressed or you just need something off your chest. I’m here for you always, like you’re here for me. This family of ours is meant to be. So let’s grow up together, without growing apart. And take on the world with only love in our heart. It’s time to cheer up and smile and stand up again. You’ve been down for a while, but now you’ve got s friend. We all have bad times and good times, the heights and the lows, but never again should you feel you’re alone.
