Every season cold or warm
Even in sunshine and during storm
I will wait for you under our tree
In the hope that you will return to me

I wait while leafs turn yellow and brown
I’m there the moment they all fall down
They colour the ground where we once stood
I’m waiting here if needed, for good

I wait while clouds colour the sky grey
Watching snow fall down every single day
It covers the bare branches of our tree
So magical a sight, I wish you were here to see

I wait while birds awake to sing their song
Hearing everything around me hum along
I stand underneath a roof of green
But without you it will never be the perfect scene

I wait while the sunlight grows stronger
But I can’t wait any longer
I watch the initials I carved long ago
Just like our love, they survived rain, sunshine, storms and snow
