"I..." Tyler pauses. "There's nothing that I like to do."
Dr. Paulson goes quiet for a moment. "You like Josh."
Tyler blinks. "What?" Dr. Paulson has never willingly brought up the topic of Josh before.
"I'm not saying that Josh is real, Tyler," the doctor says quickly. "But maybe you could try telling someone in your family about him."
"And what purpose would that serve, other then to cater my delusions?"
"It'll help you open up," Dr. Paulson says, ignoring his sarcasm. "You're much easier to understand when you're talking about something you're passionate about."
This is a really good story, just like Solo's other works. It can be quite triggering and will stay with you for at least the rest of the day. If I had emotions I most definitely would have cried at the end.

Tyler pauses, setting the canteen back onto the table beside the bed.
"You were supposed to take me the night I was given to you," Tyler says quietly. "I had no need for clothes."
"But afterwards," Josh says. "What then?"
Tyler stares at him. Could he really be that ignorant?
"It was assumed that I wouldn't survive," Tyler explains.
"Wouldn't survive?" Josh asks, sounding horrified. "You mean to say it was assumed I would kill you the night I received you?"
"Well, yes," Tyler says slowly. How could this man know so little? "It was thought that you would rape me until I died. And after that, possibly."
Josh looks rather ill all of a sudden. "I..." He trails off and clears his throat before starting again. "I'd... I'd never."
"I'm realizing that," Tyler says, leaning over and hesitantly patting Josh's hand.
Another one by SoloChaos and man, I can read it eternally. Again, very good written, even though it contains a few historical inaccuracies. It's a Pirate-AU, but that is not a con (i usually don't like Pirate AU's).

If that’s the case then why is Gerard Way still alive?
(This has been popularly described as suspenseful and witty. Not sure how those two mix, but I'll take it.)

So, 70 chapters, 145415 words and a shitload of tags ensuring a happy ending, what does that mean? It means that, even though characters are seemingly left for dead, they still survive. It is a great story, which doesn't get boring, also Helena talks a lot about Patrick Stump

Chester and Mike high school fic. An angst story. Epilogue up!
This just holds a special place in my heart, for it's the thing that really got me hooked on fanfiction (and thus on Naila's fanfictions, whom I'm now friends with). If you are easily triggered it may be a bad choice to read this, there is an excessive drug addiction, as well as abuse in the story. /Yes/ , this is one of those classic high school-AU's, but it was written in 2003 so shut up. And, y'know, at least the parents are present, and not on some everlasting business trip..

One of those teenagers is Vic, a kid who has all the time in the world, but just can't seem to think.
Yay, one of the fics I actually cried about. Great fic, may be a little inaccurate, but has diverse characters, also, good character development. The friendship that Kellin and Matty (Mullins, Memphis May Fire) build up is what I aspire to have.

Gerard's life takes a strange turn when his family moves to a small town in Vermont and he discovers the locals aren't all what they seem to be. Also includes: unexpected nature walks, murder, pining, improper treatment of crime scenes, a number of bone-related puns, high school bullies, and a short-range shrub named Ferdinand.
One of the musts if one reads frerards, I guess. This also, kind of introduced me to Ray/Bob, even though it is just implied, and probably one-sided. One of the more unusual High School-AU's. I like it a lot.

It might be a little difficult to navigate this fic, for the only place with the links to all the chapters is the last chapter (which is in the link), but it is definitely worth it. Forgiveness at its finest, also someone turning from a yuppie into a normal person.

It's really not his best introduction.

Josh turns to see the guy holding out his arm, bite-mark visible but sure enough, not bleeding.
"I'm still bandaging it," Josh says as he finally locates the first aid kit.
"It's okay," the guy says again, but he dutifully sits down when Josh gestures.
"What's your name?" Josh asks as he pulls out an antiseptic wipe.
"Tyler," the guy says, holding his right arm out for Josh.
"I'm Josh," he says while he wipes Tyler's arm. "I'm also really, really sorry."
Okay, the thing with this is that it's actually a ongoing series of one shots, with Tyler and Josh in the leading roles. I'm not giving away a thing, because that'd spoil the story.

They met Talia bat Yosef on their sixth day there. By then, they had been able to use Jephtah's name and pronouns comfortably.

Frank is the only gay guy he knows, stuck in the rather restricting and conservative world of Catholic school with his two best friends and their Catholic upbringings, where his daily adrenaline hits come from smoking behind the art block with Jamia, who he reckons is on her path to being the next Lindsay Lohan.
But then, things really do change, because perhaps Jamia's matchmaking abilities aren't quite as shitty as Frank reckons, and perhaps this 'social gathering' he's dragged along to, does have some benefit to him after all.
And perhaps, Frank will draw a face to the name of Gerard - Mikey's older brother, who really despite living in the same town, is worlds away from the reality Frank's stuck in. And on the subject of the unlikely, will Mikey ever finally figure out that Alicia Simmons really doesn't give a fuck about croquet?
As some may notice; I have deleted my total praise of this work. Don't get me wrong, it still deserves to be on here, a little, but there's so much more, better, fanfiction, with more detailed characters, and y'know a plot. But, if you want drama, and a buttload of it, be my guest

Michael comes from a very strict and quite religious family, but that doesn't stop him from having a somewhat of a normal teenage life. He still goes out, though he has an early curfew and rules to follow. He has the mouth of a sailor, but makes sure his parents never hear. He maintains good grades so his parents aren't ever thrown off. It can be annoying, but he can handle it. But life only becomes too difficult when Gavin Free intervenes.

I stayed up all night reading this and it's sequels(s). It is very emotional and a very realistic story. I love it. I may have nearly cried. May have. Also, hey, more non-bandom/phan stuff, I actually do read that (wow, shocker, i know). Still youtube tho. Dan knows he is that single annoying cloud in an otherwise clear sky and Phil is the sun, happy, bright and warm. He wants to know why Phil is letting him stay in the sky beside him.
Standing on the kitchen entrance, holding a bag of vegetables, he watches as his flatmate whistles and flits back and forth from the sink to the stove. Dan wonders how Phil is so happy—why Phil is so happy. Why would anyone be happy when they were living in the same space as Dan Howell, the literal grey cloud?
“Oh!” Phil yells, a hand over his heart as he finally sees the younger man. “You scared me!”
“Be careful of that knife.” Dan warns as he settles the plastic bags on the counter.
“Did you get the things?” He asks as he peers over his best friend’s shoulder. Suddenly there’s a warm grip on his arm and he can practically feel Phil’s contentment emanating from his body.
“You’re great!” Phil thanks with so much joy in his voice and all Dan wants to ask is why.
Here, have some angst, because fluff is not the only genre. This is fucking beautiful and paints a good picture of depression.

Lindsay sighed. “I am, in fact, aware of this, thanks Gav.”
"Just so you know, I’m only letting you stay this time because of the free food. You really need to fucking man up and deal with it or it’ll never end and I really can’t take you being over here ALL THE TIME when you have your own apartment literally 1 minute away." Ray told Michael as Joel shut the door and flopped down next to Ray, picking up the other controller.
"So what’s going on with you then, Michael?" Joel asked as Michael slumped down in front of the couch.
"It’s Lindsay and Gavin and Meg and everyone they've ever talked to. They keep bugging me about cats.”
Joel looked at Michael, confused. “How is that any different from usual. Your wife is addicted to cats. So is your boyfriend and his girlfriend. You’d think you’d be used to it by now."

Things were looking up for Ray and then shit had to happen.
“What exactly do you want me to do? Get on my hands and knees and propose?” Michael snorted, bumping into Ray as they sat at their usual lunch table.
“No, but you should at least stop staring at him.” Ray snorted, glancing at the British exchange student talking animatedly with some upper classmen three tables away. “He’s going to start thinking you’re stalking him.”
“I’m not staring at him!” Michael insisted, focusing on his lunch. “He’s just loud as fuck.”
Ray snorted and laughed, shaking his head at his friend who is obviously crushing on the British student. Since Gavin came to the school at the beginning of the semester, Michael had been interested in him. Ray was tired of hearing about it honestly. He just wanted them to get together already.
Michael returned to eating while glancing briefly at Gavin every so often while Ray looking around the cafeteria. His eyes found the blond hair of a certain senior student and stayed there.
“Maybe you shouldn’t be worrying about me.” Michael snorted, following Ray’s gaze to the older student. “You’re still crushing hard.”
Ray blushed and chuckled awkwardly. “Unlike you and Gavin, Ryan’s a little out of my reach.” He reminded Michael. He couldn’t deny the crush he had on Ryan, not after having it for nearly a year and a half now, since Ryan had been his tutor for science in freshman year.

In which Gavin is really, ridiculously, openly gay and Michael- just as gay, but infinitely less open about it- somehow ends up being the only person to come to the LGBTQ+ school club he sets up. But then Ray comes along the next week. Then Ryan. Then Geoff, and Jack, and Meg, and Lindsay... Pretty soon, a whole gang of misfit queer kids gathers in Mr. Hullum’s English classroom every Thursday after school, talking shit and trying to hold themselves together.
Meanwhile, Michael struggles with juggling his mental health, Catholic parents and his relationship, Gavin is really, really, clueless, Caleb is Not A Girl, Ryan and Ray run lines in a broom closet somewhere and Lindsay is a total badass. They're tragic, dysfunctional and ridiculously overdramatic in a way that only teenagers can be, messing up and making out and having way too many deep and meaningful conversations.
Oh, and Miles wears a skirt. Sometimes.
Yay, more queer as hell stories. I am mainly in love with ths because Ray is Ace-panro (which I am too, kinda if you take things into consideration) and it is great. A lot of the AH/RT cast. Caleb is a transboy, Miles is genderfluid, Goeff is Pan, Lindsay is a lesbian etc. It is super. Also some angst. But that's okay, for life is not all butterflies and sunshine.

"Hey," Gavin beamed, his mood upbeat as always despite his disheveled visitor. He took a once-over glance of the strange teenager standing in front of him, wearing the usual gear one would typically expect of a wandering trainer. "So you're a trainer, yeah?"
He sighed. "Yeah I guess. Hey, I need to level some shit. You can help me out, right?"
"You want to level your Pokemon?" Gavin's spirits were soaring. They didn't get a lot of visitors here at his grandparent's nursery, certainly not from actual trainers. These were the owners with their sights set on Victory Road, the stuff of legends. Sure, Gavin had his own beloved collection of Pokemon that he was personally raising, but he wasn't a trainer.
"Yeah, whatever."
Gavin's smile faltered. "Um. So." He glanced back over at his shoulder to see if either of his grandparents were coming up to the reception area at the sound of the door opening. When no one appeared he swallowed at turned back to the front. They were probably already asleep. Apparently he had to deal with this himself. "Would you like to leave a Pokemon at the nursery?" The comfortable pleasantries of the usual script felt wrong and awkward.
"No. But I guess I have to."
Gavin's smile was basically gone. "Well." He smoothed the fabric of his apron uncomfortably. "If you don't want to be here, why are you?"
"Because I lost."
Basically a Pokémon AU series. Gavin is a breeder, and Michael is a trainer. They travel together. They fall in love. Stuff happens. Joel is the leader of team rocket. I love the qoute "No not at the fucking Pokemart, they don’t sell goddamn condoms at the Pokemart, Gavin.". It has sadly been abandoned, but I want to put it in, though there is not much of an ending.

There's no point to it, no plot or purpose, all it has is just one glitched-up NPC with a foul mouth. And Gavin can't decide if he should be terrified or fascinated by it all.

Michael hates summer camp; his parents force him to go every year. But this summer he meets someone new who might make him want to stay at camp forever.
One boat in particular catches Michael’s attention. He recognizes Gavin as the one piloting the boat, by himself, though. Gavin is a little red in the face by the time he makes it to the dock. “Hi,” he musters.
“Hi, moron. You know you’re supposed to be peddling that thing with someone else, right?” Michael teases, shoving the lanyard into his pocket.
“Yeah,” Gavin says, still somewhat breathy and with a blush on his cheeks. “I just…” He holds up an orange jacket.
“Oh, y-you want me to…” Michael stammers.
Ray finally looks up. “You must be the famous British heartthrob, Gavin.”
Gavin scoffs a sort of chuckle. “Hi. What’s your name?”
“This is Ray,” Michael answers for him. “He’s my friend.”
“Cool. So you wanna come with me, Michael?”
Michael can’t help but notice how Gavin says his name more like “Mi-cool” than “Michael,” but it makes him feel all bubbly inside for some dumb reason. “Sure, I’ll come with you. Peace, Ray.” Michael slides off of the dock and onto the boat, taking the embarrassing orange lifejacket. “Tell me if any pretty cheerleaders come by, okay?”
“I got it, bro,” Ray says, giving a half-hearted thumbs up. “Have him back by ten, okay, Gavin?” Ray mocks in a dad-voice.
Gavin chuckles with a blush. “Ha, okay.”
Michael gives Ray an “I’ll kill you” look, but Ray isn’t looking at them anymore, but rather his game.
A Summercamp-AU with Orphan!Gavin. It is super-duper cute, till like the last-ish chapter(s), then there is slight angst. A Happy ending though. Gavin is also bullied, it's really sad. Ray's awesome.

Ray is fifteen years, four months and eleven days old when he runs away from home.
He can't think of a reason for it, really, it’s more of a combination of his father’s drinking and the dead look in his mother’s dark eyes, as she sits with a cigarette in her hand, watching the family fall apart. His dad shouts and she listens. She doesn’t react anymore. She doesn’t even look afraid anymore.
Ray packs a duffel bag with some clothes, his Gameboy and twenty dollars and sets out onto the road. The best thing to do, would be to get out of New York all together. Whether or not his parents notice or miss his absence at all, he doesn’t want the chance to turn back. He can't turn back.
In GTA verse style. Kind of angsty, kind of cute. Mostly Raywood.

You took my gun, let me walk off like Prince Happy Unaware to get the shit beat out of me, and now you’re making, what, chocolate chip waffles, are you serious—who the fuck does that?”
Ryan sets the bowl down and lifts his hands, palms up, still not looking particularly concerned. “I got hired to find some stupid kid who stole nearly fifty thousand dollars’ worth of coke off a kingpin,” he says, offhand, and Ray’s stomach flips.
Loads of GTA AU's, loads of Raywood, that's what's coming. This one starts off kind of angsty, but it's actually kind of fluffy. Little bit of violence, not worth tagging.

Sometimes it felt like Ray was a never ending ocean filled with creatures that could terrify you to your very core just daring somebody to come and drown in it (and joel did).

Well this was unexpected. He wasn’t really sure what he was supposed to do in this situation. What was the protocol for a person bleeding out in front of your door? Panic? Call 911? See if they were dead? He was honestly stumped which was bad considering there was a person literally bleeding out on his door step.
Ryan started to move, determined to check for the person’s pulse, then stopped. Wasn’t he supposed to get their permission first? Or was he supposed to call 911 first? He started to reach for his phone but stopped again. He could help this person right now instead of being on hold with the police.
GTA AU. Ryan starts off super innocent, and slowly starts to turn into the GTA Ryan we know, except he doesn't kill. The mechanical rabbit is awesome. Also, some angst.

I've started reading some zombie AU's, and this is one of the better. The raywood is built up slowly and the side characters are detailed. Amazing

Ray's always been persistently introverted, that's why a long distance friendship with Michael had been perfect. He didn't need to go anywhere unless Michael came to visit. He could stay away from parties, and bars, and pools, and people who've had one shot too many. But now that he's been hired at Achievement Hunter, that doesn't work so well anymore. And Michael's tired of Ray always ditching out, always staying home. "Team Used To Be Better Friends," he calls them now. Well, that fucking sucks.
Parkour was meant to be a distraction from that, some sort of stupid rebellion to prove that Ray can get out of his apartment once in awhile. Despite any injuries it causes, at the end of the day and by Ray's terms, he's still safe.
Too bad he can't decide which he needs more, security, or Michael.
If you want loads of feels, this is the fucking fic for you. It's super well written and even though Ray is a little OOC (I mean, exercise) it is fucking amazing. It is definitely one of my favourite fics out there. Please read.

Ray and Michael were supposed to take this trip to Europe together. It was their last big hurrah before they fucked off to college or to McDonalds or to wherever the hell people go after high school leaves them high and dry in the adult world. Except Ray had tripped and fallen headfirst into a long distance relationship and left Michael alone for the summer. Well fuck it, he’s going to Europe anyways. There’s plenty of stuff to do there. Alone.
Seeing as this is the same author as the one of "The Wires That Connect Me To You", its sequel, and "Take The Leap" I expected nothing less than awesome. Also, don't be scared off by the threesome in the relationship tag, in this one (not the sequel tho), it is very background, if you don't dig that. I personally feel awkward reading threesome fics (Except previously mentioned Part 2), but this went very well.

Firstly, give me a round of applause; first non-shippy fic on this list. Might be last too, but I don't know about that. Basically a Hybrid/Zombie AU and it is amazing. It is possibly the only non-shippy fanfiction I am reading right now, I'm almost sure. It'snstill a work in progress, but I have full trust in the writer. Also, the chapters are nice and long and there's an actual plot that can be seen throughout the entire fic (unlike "Pretty", which too had long chapters, but lost its plot). I might be in love.

Ryan’s plan was going perfectly. Not only had both of the cities ‘best heroes’ come to visit him, but Mogar was going to come visit him soon. Everything was falling perfectly into place. The heroes were ripping each other apart, Mogar was going to be under his thumb. Everything was perfect except for the door opening. Mogar wasn’t scheduled to come yet.
Ryan raised an eyebrow from his bed where he was lounging, his back against the cold cement wall and legs stretched out and crossed in front of him. Well, even if Mogar was a bit early, it didn’t affect his plan too much.
Then he saw light green spandex and a dark green cape and frowned. X-Ray? Why was he there? He had already had his time in the hero’s head.
"Good to see you again, X-Ray.” Ryan said smoothly, standing with his hands clasped behind him.
I might've been searching for this fic for ages, and just found it. This thing is amazing and I hold it really close to my heart, for it's not only a great xrv raywood fic, but also depicts a great parental relationship between X-Ray and Dragonface, which is literally the cutest thing ever.

When Simmons ran off to a spit of an island in the Hawaiian chain for the summer just before his senior year of high school, there were a couple of things he didn't expect: the lack of technology (which didn't really bug him, it was very 2000's), the amount of underage alcohol consumption (again, no complaints really), and a certain native teen (which, initially, he really could have done without).
I am quite in love with this fic, it's great fucking pining. Takes place mostly in Hawaii, and ends in Blood Gulch. Also, first rvb fanfic here (Party!!). I realte to Simmons man. Except that my name is not Dick, and I suck at soccer.
