Chapter 2

Rose Walker



I grabbed a canvas the point I needed and went back to my seat.
As soon as my point hit the canvas I instantly began painting.
I could easily think of something as soon as I pick up a brush or pencil or any other art ingredient. When I was done I stared at my work and decided it was pretty good. I smiled at i tand handed it too the teacher who looked very impressed.
As soon as college was over I head to Amy’s car.
I have to go to work now but I don’t mind at all! I love work since I get to work wit hall those adorable kids and help all those sweetie’s with they’re fustration since they have dyslexia.

It’s really fun and I really love kids so I kinda actually look forward to work. Pretty sad, huh?
I happed in Amy’s car to see her fixing her lipstick. I rolled my eyes playfully and snapped my fingers in front of her face making her get a little make-up on her cheek.
I laughed and she glared at me but than laughed along and gave me a quick hug. She started driving and when we got there, she said: ‘’After you’re done, would you mind walking home? I have an extra shift at Starbucks.’’ Yeah, Amy works at Starbucks. It’s actually pretty cool since I spend a lot of time there and she sometimes sneaks me in stuff for free.
I nodded and she smiled gratefully at me. I said bye and walked to work.
As soon as I entered the classroom, I was attacked by 7 years olds. ‘’ROSE!’’, they all yelled giving me a huge hug. I giggled and leaned down to give them alle ach a kiss on the cheek.
I don’t mean to brag but I am there favorite teacher.
I don’t have favorites though I love all those little munchkins equaly.
I greeted the other volunteers and walked towards the little kids who were stuggling with the alphabets. I helped them out and when they got it right, I gave them each a cookie.
The other volunteers don’t know whenever a student gets something right, I give them cookies. They both gave me a kiss on the cheek and I winked at them going of to help another pair.
I was still looking when a little 7 years old boy with short brown hair and hazzal eyes ran up too me. Ahh, little Luke.

Okay, I don’t have favorites but I just like Luke a bit more. He’s just adorable and different than the others, but no matter what, I love him a little bit more.
He stuggles the most and I help the most. I’m his favorite teacher and I’m incredibly proud of him.
He started hugging my legs and I giggled and leaned down to his height and gave a huge hug.
As soon as we pulled away he gave me a big sloppy kiss on the cheek. I smiled and pinched his nose. ‘’So how are we doing today, Lukey?’’ I asked.
He smiled and said: ‘’Good! I got the alphabet right all the way to K but no one gave me a cookie!’’ He pouted and I smiled softly.

I reached in my bag and grabbed the biggest cookie for him. His eyes lit up and he took and ate it.
I rufled his hair ‘’Thank you!’’, he shouted hugging me again.
Once he was finished with his cookie he looked up at me with hopeful eyes. ‘’Can you read for me?’’ He asked.
I laughed and nodded, ‘’Of course’’. I picked him up and walked towards the bookshelf. ‘’What do you want to read today, Lukey?’’ I asked.
He had a thoughtful look before he said: ‘’Green eggs and ham!’’. I smiled before getting his favorite book.
I sat on the bean bag with him on my lap. I opened the book and he did a little squeal like he always did when I read this to him. I bit my lip to stop from laughing and read the book for him.

He kept giggling when there was a rhyme which was pretty much the whole book.
It was so adorable. When I was done with the book, he made me read it again, and again, and again, until his dad came to pick him up.
‘’NOOO! I DON’T WANNA GO! I WANNA STAY WITH ROSE! PLEASE!’’, Luke said wrapping his arms and legs around my leg. I giggled softly as his dad rolled his eyes.
His dad leaned down and told him: ‘’Hey buddy you’ll see Rose tomorrow.’’ Luke looked up at me and said: ‘’Promise?’’ I smiled before holding out my pinky ,‘’Promise’’ I stated after he grabbed my pinky with his tiny one.
‘’Now go say bye to everyone else while I talk to Rose’’, his daid said.

Luke nodded, gave me a hug and a kiss, and walked of to say goodbye to everyone else.
His dad smiled at me before saying: ‘’That kid really loves ya.’’ I smiled fondly and said: ‘’I love that little cutie too.’’ His dad laughed and said: ‘’Hey, I’ve been meaning to ask you something.’’ I nodded for him to continue. ‘’I wanna take out Luke’s mum tomorrow and I’ve been looking for someone to babysit him for us. And he loves you very much and it would make him very happy if you-‘’, I

interrupted him. ‘’I’ll do it!’’ I yelled eagerly. ‘’I would love to babysit Luke, he is just adorable!’’ His dad smiled gratefully before saying: ‘’So you can take him home with you tomorrow and we’ll come pick him up at around 10?’’ I nodded and his dad shock my hand before walking out with Luke who blew me a kiss before leaving.

‘’Bye everyone!’’ I said to the other volunteers who waved back before I walked out the door.
Now too walk home alone… Yay! Note the sarcasm.
I started walking not really paying attention, just looking at my boots. Before I knew it I bumped into someone.
‘’Oh, I’m so-‘’ I got caught off by looking up and seeing the most beautiful emerald green eyes I’ve ever seen before.
