~~Chapter Four~~

"Alright, we’ll tell you. But, you probably won’t believe us." He sighs.

I tell him the whole story, leaving out the thing with my contacts, and the fact that they are an anime. He looks surprised.

"You fell from another world, called Earth?"

"Yep, that’s also a way to say it."

"Well… I guess it’s not impossible… Say, do you guys know how to use chakra?"

"Nope. But I wanna try!!" I scream.

"Ehmm… exactly what IS chakra…?" Judith asks, but the others look just as confused.

Oh yeah… they never really watched Naruto… I sigh. I turn to them, planning to explain it to them, but the old man is faster.

"Chakra is the energy with which we ninjas fuel our ninjutsu. We make it in our bodies. Without it, it is impossible to be a ninja… with a few exceptions."

"So… why would we need it? It’s not like we’re ninjas…" Schelte mutters.

"Well, I was planning on sending you to the Academy, while you are allowed to stay here, in Konoha."

"Yeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh!!!" I yell. "So, so, so, can we try now? Using chakra? PLEASE?!"

"Yes, of course. Try the clone jutsu." He looks at me expectantly.

"Ehmm… what are the handsigns for it?"

He raises one eyebrow. "You don’t have jutsu’s in your world?"

"Nope."

"Well, then I’ll s-"

"Wait, no, stop! I’ll try something!"

I cross my hands and scream: "Kage Bunshin No Jutsu!"

I feel something click inside me, like a switch turning. Then I hear “poof” sounds all around me.

I look around, and see I have made seven shadow clones. Then I look at the Hokage.

He is just staring at me. "How can you do such a high level, forbidden Jutsu?"

"Dunno, I had the urge to cross my fingers and shout that."

"Uhh… okay. I think it’s obvious you can use chakra. Now Jolien, you try."

I look at her, and she looks horrified. Maybe that is because there are eight Didi’s looking at her… Aw well.

"You just have to try. I felt something click inside me, like a switch. Then it worked." I try to encourage her.

"Okay… can I try the one Dyonne did? It looked pretty easy..."

"Yes, of course… I’m curious to see if you get the same results."

Jolien nods. "Dyonne, can you show me what you did with your hands again?"

"Yeah, sure… Everyone, watch, otherwise I’ll have to show this four times…"

Everyone watches and mimics it. Then Jolien stretches.

"Alright, here I go!" She crosses her fingers, and shouts: "Kage Bunshin No Jutsu!"

Two shadow clones pop out of thin air right next to her, and she throws her fist in the air. "I did it!"

"Good job! Now, next one, please. Can you try, Judith?"

"Alright…" She crosses her fingers and says: "Kage Bunshin No Jutsu…"

……………..

Nothing happens.

She frowns. "Why won’t it work?"

"Try to shout it! They always do that in the ani- never mind that, I think that would work!" She nods.

She crosses her hands again, and, this time, shouts: "Kage Bunshin No Jutsu!"

I hear “poof” and a cloud appears around her body. When it drifts away… nothing has happened.

"Hmm… this is peculiar… You used chakra, but Kage Bunshin is too high level, I guess… I’ll show you the handsigns for Bunshin No Jutsu, Clone Jutsu… maybe that one will work. You four, also watch me."

He does a few handsigns, and after six times everyone knows them, but it’s hard to move your hands fast… I don’t get how they do it in the anime…

"Alright, I’ll try this one then. Bunshin No Jutsu!" A cloud appears again, and this time three clones stand around Judith.

"Yaaaaaayy!" Hehe, that was me.

"Good, that worked. Next one. Schelte?"

"Okay. I’ll just try the one Judith did…" He does the handsigns, and a cloud appears… Why do they get a cloud and I didn’t?! I shake my head. Go away, random thoughts!

When the cloud goes away, something half-dead is lying on the floor… It looks just like…

"It’s like Naruto’s clone!!" I yell, before I realize I shouldn’t be able to know this. Damn.

The old man looks at me with a questioning gaze, but says nothing. Phew.

"Schelte… that’s just pathetic!" I laugh pretty loud.

"Shut up… At least I can use that stuff…"

"Up until now everyone could, so that’s nothing special!" I stick my tongue out at him.

He grumbles something back, but I can’t hear it because Lindy starts talking.

"I don’t think I can do this… Do I have to?"

"Yes!! It feels really funny… teehee." Hehe, my response, of course.

The others nod in agreement, though Carrot is glaring at me.

Lindy sighs. "Alright, alright… I’ll try. But I just want to try the one Judith and Schelte did. It sounds as if the other one is harder. Well…. Here I go." She does the handsigns. "Bunshin no Jutsu!"

She doesn’t get a cloud. Hehehe… But the Jutsu has worked. Surrounding her are five perfect clones.

"Yaaaaay Lily-chan~! You did it!" I hug her.

"Didi, get off me… I can’t breathe." Quickly I release my hold on her neck.

"Gomen, Lily-chan!" I smile.

"Good work, all of you. It seems you can all use chakra, on different levels. That decides it. You don’t have anywhere to go, right? We’ll sort that out later. Now you go on to the Academy." The old man calls one of his guards in.

"Can you lead them to the Academy?"

"Yes, of course, Lord Hokage. Come on, we’ll go." He walks out the room.

I look at the others and shrug. Guess we’ll follow him…
