~~Chapter One~~

When I wake up, everything hurts. I open my eyes, but immediately close them again. The light is just too bright. Wait… bright? In the media room? I open them once again, just to check. The light really is bright, and I have to force my eyes to stay open. After a few seconds they have adjusted to the light, and I can see everything clearly.

I’m sure this is not the media room. I see a clear blue sky above my head, with a few fluffy clouds. I lift my arm and try to grab them, though I’m not sure why. They just look so… not real, I guess.

Then I hear a noise. It sounds like a sneeze. I make myself sit up and look around. It’s not just the sky that looks weird… so do the trees, the grass… and my friends.

Huh? My friends… They look really weird… I guess you can call it cartoony (Is that even a word? Aw well, now it is ^^). There was weird black line around them… around their hair, their bodies, their faces… It looks kinda creepy.

Suddenly one of them moves, and I snap out of my weird thoughts. The one that moved was Lindy… or, well… she looks like Lindy. Anime-like Lindy. Her eyes snap open, and they’re huge. Huge, round, shiny, blue eyes.

I try my best not to laugh, but it doesn’t work. It never does. I laugh, and Lindy sits up, looking disorientated. Then her eyes widen in shock. I laugh again, and wonder why I’m not in shock. I know I SHOULD be, but somehow everything looks… familiar.

"Didi… where are we?!" Lindy is looking at me, now confused. Expressions are so easy to read on her new anime face!

"I have no idea, but right now I don’t really care… Oh, by the way, do I look the same as you?"

"What are you talking about?" She gives me a blank look.

"Am I also all cartoony? Cause you are… Just like the others." I laugh again.

"Now that you say it… you actually are. It looks creepy." She frowns, which brings weird lines on her forehead. It looks weird again. I laugh.

"What are you laughing at?"

"You look… very weird… weird wrinkles… frowning!" I know I’m not making any sense, but there’s no helping it. I can’t stop laughing.

"Well, whatever… Should we wake the others up? Then we can work out where we are… and how we got here."

"Okaaaay, leave that to me!!" I yell enthusiastically. Lindy sighs, but nods.

I jump up, and run to Judith, who is lying closest to me. She is lying on her belly, with her face to the side. It gives me the urge to poke her cheek, which I, being the impulsive and weird girl I am, do.

I squat down, and poke her three times. Her eye twitches, but nothing else happens. I frown. Maybe if I… Nah, I’ll just keep poking.

After poking her five more times her eye twitches again, this time together with her mouth. I grin. This is funny. I bring my finger to her cheek to poke again, but my hand is slapped away.

"What the heck do you think you’re doing? I was sleeping…" Her eyes flutter open, and they too are huge.

"Yay, you’re awake!! Get up, we’re trying to figure out where we are!" I jump up and dance towards Schelte, who is lying ten meters ahead.

"CAAAAARROOOOOOTTT!!! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKKEEEE UUUUUUUUUUUUUPP!!!!" I scream in his ear. He shoots up, looking terrified. Actually, he kinda looks like a zombie. I snicker. That seems to really wake him up.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! AND WHY ARE YOU LAUGHING?!" He yells, while looking around. "And where are we?!"

"Well… question one, I’m waking you up. Question two, you look funny, like an anime zombie." I snicker again. "As to question three… I don’t know, though I’m starting to get this really weird feeling… like I saw all this before." I shrug and jump up. On to sleeping friend number three.

"Joooooooooliiiiiieeeeeennn…" I sing, while hopping to where she lies. Somehow we landed in a circle. Funny.

She is lying on her back with her arms and legs spread, like she is trying to make a snow angel. I stand over her with my legs at her sides. I bend forward until my face is a few inches from hers. This always works with sleeping people… somehow. If you stare long enough…

Her eye twitches. Hehehe, it works. A huge grin spreads on my face at the moment she opens her eyes. When they focus I can see her shock, clearly displayed at her face. She scrambles away, like a frightened animal.

"Wow, it must be a real shock, seeing my face first thing in the morning.’ Then I look at the sky, calculating. "At least I think its morning… Aw well, you know what I mean." I grin at her.

After a few seconds recognition spreads across her face. "Dyonne… is that you?!"

"Yep, it’s me, in all my anime-like glory." I turn around and walk towards the others, who are all huddled together in the middle off the clearing we’re standing in. I hear footsteps behind me, so I know that Jolien is following me.

When I get to the others, they look at me expectantly, like I’m supposed to know where we are. I sigh and sit down.

"Did you think of anything? Does anyone clearly remember what happened? My memories are a bit fuzzy…" I start talking, because the others are just staring at me. "I know we were in the media room, and nobody knew what game we could play, so I wanted to show you," I nod at Judith and Schelte, "episode one of Naruto…" Something clicks inside my head.

"And then we got a weird message which wouldn’t go away, and then everything turned black." Lindy finishes.

My head is still processing the idea which formed in my mind. Could it be…? No… that shouldn’t be possible… But then again…

"Guys… I think I know where we are… I know this is gonna sound weird, but this forest looks a lot like the one surrounding Konohagakure in Naruto…" I get four blank stares in return. Of course, I think, no one else has seen more than three episodes of Naruto…

"Konohagakure is the city where most of the series takes place… I think we somehow got into the anime." The faces of Lindy and Jolien are getting more amazed and happier with every word I say, while Judith’s and Schelte’s are getting more and more horrified.

"That can’t be possible, can’t it? How could we get in there?" Schelte sounds hopeful, probably hoping it’s all a dream.

"I don’t see any other explanation though… I mean, duh… We even LOOK like them…" Jolien points at every one of us. We all look around and have to agree. I have a growing urge to sing, as loud as my lungs will permit me. Knowing me, it won’t take long before I do exactly that. But for now, I have to try and act calm.

"So, we’re in the Naruto world. What do we do now? It’s not like there’s anyone around… I think" Then I get an idea. I feel like a little lamp just lighted up above my head.

"I’m gonna climb a tree, to see how close we are to Konoha!" With those words I jump up and hop towards the biggest tree, while singing “Nagareboshi ~Shooting Star~” by “Home Made Kazoku”.
