Toen hij weer wat gekalmeerd was liet ik hem voorzichtig los. “Are you ok?” vroeg ik voorzichtig, niet willend dat hij boos op me zou worden. “I’m sorry it’s just..”, hij haalde diep adem, “it’s getting a little bit too much. Liam told you I didn’t sleep really well. I already have nightmares for a week. Every night I dream everyone leaves me. I hear their voices say: Harry you’re useless. We don’t need you. And then they walk away.” Ik kreeg tranen in mijn ogen. Om Harry zo gebroken te zien was het ergste wat ik ook meegemaakt had. “But that’s not everything.. Sometimes I have the feeling the fans only like me for my looks and not for how I sing or for who I am. They’re always like: Omg Harry, I love your curls. Or: Harry can I tough your curls and you’re dimples are so cute. And when you put that together with my nightmares.. Well, you know what you get then.” Hij haalde nog een diepe hap adem. “I miss my family. Being home with my mum and stepdad. Making fun of Gemma”, een glimlach verscheen op zijn gezicht, “Being famous and the fans, its getting a bit too much. I can’t do anything without being afraid someone makes a picture of it. I can’t do anything without being recognised. I don’t have privacy anymore and I miss that. Do you understand what I mean?” Ik knikte. Ik trok hem weer in een knuffel. “It’s going to be alright Hazza. I know there are a lot of fans who don’t only like your looks. You’re just unlucky you don’t meet them. But I remember, they’re always there for you even though you can’t see them. And Harry you’re not useless. I think you’re a really sweet guy and they really need you in the band. One Direction wouldn’t be One Direction without you. I think the boys would never, ever, ever leave you and so wouldn’t all the other people. You’re too cute for that. You really have an amazing voice and I think you also have an amazing personality. I’m not really sure about that, because I don’t really know you. But I watched the Diaries and I thought you have an amazing personality. And about the fans and being famous, maybe you should do some things with Louis. I know you have a really good bond. Do some things together which has nothing to do with fans or being famous. Watch some movies, go swimming or something like that. I don’t care. Just do something that doesn’t remind you of your job. I know you’ll be alright, because there are a lot of people who care about you. You’ll never stand alone, don’t forget that. Never.”
