Chapter 1

“Last week would have been better”. Sean knew his brother was right. It had been warmer and darker that night, and the postponenement wasn’t absolutely necessary. “It doesn’t matter, we planned it for today, there’s no need for looking back”. He looked aside to his brother, who just fell over a branch. “Hmm, careful, the forest is turning against us” said Bruce with rolling eyes. “Oh come on Bruce, don’t be stupid” Sean whispered, and walked on. Bruce stood up and walked after him. “There they are!” said Bruce after a few minutes, pointing forward with his finger. And indeed, now Sean saw it too. About 100 meters further a small light was cutting it’s way through the thick grown leaves of the trees that were standing close together. “We have to be very silent now, otherwise this could be the end for us” Sean turned around to his brother and looked seriously to him. “We can’t make any mistakes, there’s a lot depending on this”. Paul nodded. “I know it Sean” he said with a bored face. “Yes, but you’re always so misguided and unthinking, that’s unacceptable now!” the whisper kept hanging in the air for a few seconds, before the wind absorbed the words one by one, bringing them to a far, unknown location. Bruce, for once happy with his length, looked down to his brother. “It will all turn out the right way, Sean, don’t worry so much”. And with that words he walked on to the small light, from which they expected to bring them answers. Sean stood, with his mouth open, staring to the place where his brother was standing just a few seconds ago. After all these years, Bruce still had surprises for him. But, again, he was right. Sean smiled, turned around and ran as silent as possible after his brother. The time had come, and it had to happen now. In his hurry he didn’t pay attention to the little sparkling a few meters away…
