“I’m sorry, I didn’t see you there, homo.” Were the words David Karofsky spoke after he shoved the smaller boy against his locker. Something he was doing since the boy came out in freshman year, getting away without even a warning.

David Smiled and gave the other jocks a high five, looking at their target, who had this kicked-puppy-look on his face.

Blaine let out a sigh as he let himself fall against his locker, he hated being the target of all bullies.

Life wasn’t playing it nice with him, first of all he was gay and that was the perfect excuse for the jocks to throw him in the dumpster and push him around, because all he did was standing in their way with his gayness.

Then there was the part of him being short and having untamable curly hair. Those parts of him made him famous as the ‘gay hobbit’ something that really pissed him of, he had a name, even if it seemed weird.

The puppyish look on his face caught Quinn’s attention “Hey, are you okay? You usually don’t care about them pushing you around…” he looked at his best friend, still with the puppy-look in his eyes.

“No, I’m not okay!” he almost yelled that words, making Quinn gasp. He hated it when he turned his anger to the wrong people, something he did too many times before, and sadly Quinn was always the one getting lectured.

Blaine got this look in his eyes even Quinn didn’t know when he apologized to her “I’m sorry… I just can’t control my feelings anymore…” his voice started cracking after ‘just’ and the first tear fell at the word ‘feelings’, causing Quinn to rub his back.

“Hey, you have no need to be sorry, and all the reasons to be mad…” Quinn started with a comforting voice, looking up at him, as one of the few people who were actually smaller than him. “Let’s go to glee club, and after school we’ll see the principal, ‘kay?”

Blaine nodded “Where would I be without you?” he said with a small voice, walking with her to glee club.

“At the dump, because no one helped you out of that dumpster in freshman year.” Quinn sounded very serious while saying that, but couldn’t help but laugh with Blaine as he did.

“..Our competition for sectionals this year!” A happy grin was to see on Mr. Shuester’s face when he announced the two groups where they were comparing too this year.

When he came to the warblers, all eyes were set on Blaine, only Quinn’s came a bit later, and didn’t say ‘gay school, gay kid.’ But something more like ‘ignore them.’ Blaine winked at her before looking to Mr. Shue again.

When he started about a second ‘boys v/s girls’ tournament Blaine rolled his eyes at Quinn, who winked at him as her hand flew up through the air. “Mr. Shuester, can Blaine be on the girls’ team?” she asked with a very innocent voice.

‘Are you mad!?’ Blaine mouthed at her , but Quinn only gave him her ‘deal with it’ look before Will sighed.

“Well… he is a boy…” he started, but he got interrupted by Finn “We know that, Mr. Shue, but when it comes to music and preforming, I think he’s more of a girl…”

Blaine raised one of his eyebrows “Thank you, I guess…” he said with an almost sarcastic voice.

Will sighed, “Well, Blaine, what do you think?” sometimes his kids were really complicated, especially Blaine, not that he disliked him being different, oh no, Blaine was a nice kid, it’s just that he always made Will question if he really was happy.

Blaine didn’t say anything, this was difficult, he would love to perform with Quinn and the other girls, but if he did he gave Puck a reason to start picking on him again.

“Dude, just sing with them, we all know you want to…” It was Finn who said that, getting a look full with fire from Blaine. Something that Finn didn’t get about that look was that Blaine was smiling, smiling, that wasn’t something comparing with the fire in his eyes.

“You guys are going down!” Blaine said as he joined the girls with a wide grin and the smile suddenly made sense to Finn, making him smile, too.

“Now that is decided, let’s start rehearsing, guys!” Will chanted, clapping his hands optimistic, he was always so happy when he stood in this room, surrounded by his glee kids that were all happy being themselves, although, they seemed happy…

Blaine and the girls were settled in an empty classroom, discussing songs and outfits “I say High-water jeans!” Blaine chanted and he grinned as the girls all threw something at him.

“Are those really the only jeans you have and can think about?” Quinn asked serious, bit with a smile playing around her lips.

“Well…” Blaine started, pretending to think very deep and well about that question “Yes, that’s correct Mrs. Fabray.” He finally said to the group of grinning girls around him, he seemed to have forgotten about his anger to the jocks, but it wasn’t really gone, just in the back of his mind.

“What if we do All the pretty girls from Fun?” Rachel said and all the girls agreed, Blaine could take the lead and they would sing second voice. This was the first time Rachel gave away a solo, so all the girls were impressed.

“What do you think, Blaine?” Quinn asked, looking at her best friend, who hadn’t agreed with the song yet. “Blaine?” she asked again, waving her hand in front of his face.

Blaine popped his chin out of his hand when he saw the fast movement in front of him. “Uh… What were we talking about again?” he asked, a dreamy look on his face.

Quinn laughed “Your leading part in All the pretty girls , silly.” She said, and right after her Rachel continued with a smile “That I gave to you, mister dreamy head, I can take it back in a second. Were where you with your thoughts anyway?”

Blaine got a goofy grin on his face “I’d love to sing the lead!” he said exited, avoiding the question where he had been with his head.

“Great, now answer my question, Blaine!” the look on Rachel’s face looked like the one she had when she told Finn to do something and it freaked Blaine out a little, so he just told them.

“Well… You guys remember that all boys school?” he asked, getting nods from all girls. “Think about how much gay guys walk around there!” he said with a big grin and He got stuff thrown at his head again.

Mercedes smiled at him “I thought that you, of all people, wouldn’t say that an all-boys school is a gay school… “ she said and the other girls agreed, looking at Blaine again.
“Hey, don’t blame me, can’t I fantasize about gay heaven when I live in gay hell?” He said, but with still a big grin on his face.

“Do we live in Hell? Oh my god, who don’t we get out of here!” Brittany said with her dumb voice, actually it was just her voice, but when she said something stupid like that it sounded even dumber.

“No, Britt, you don’t. Only I do.” Blaine said, getting rolling with eyes from the girls, except for Brittany, who sounded very serious when she said: “Why don’t you go to that gay hell you were talking about, then?”

A uncomfortable silence filled the room, with all girls giving Blaine questioning stares.
TBC.
