The First Kiss
“May I kiss you?” he whispered, his tone vulnerable. He leaned in a little, his eyes on my lips. He had this questioning look in his eyes as he looked back at mine. I nodded, and he came closer. My breathing hitched, so did his. This was going to be my first kiss… What if I wasn’t good at this? What if his first kiss, too, would not be good enough? Would either of us regret it later?
I didn’t ask any questions anymore as he reassured me with his eyes. He smiled a little as our foreheads touched, and so did I. We both took in a small breath as he came closer. The hands on my shoulders moved, one to circle my waist and the other one to caress my cheek. The skin he touched was suddenly on fire, and I felt my cheeks start to glow. My own hands moved around his neck, stroking it, pulling him slightly closer. Our noses touched and I gasped with anticipation. He turned his head slightly, making sure he had the perfect angle to make his lips touch mine. We sat there for a few seconds, breathing hard and adjusting to the new closeness we had found together.
“Are you ready?” he asked, and I nodded to him, my eyes closing and my lips waiting. His breath came even closer than it already was, and I smiled to myself. Edward Masen was going to kiss me. And then I felt his lips brush mine, ever so slightly, and my body took over, there was no more mind or sense in the things I did as I moaned and feverishly kissed him back. For a second, he was so shocked he didn’t move, but then his warm lips started moving together with mine. I felt sparks and electricity everywhere he touched me.
But then I lost all of my air-supply and I had to back off.
We were both breathing hard and smiling after this.
