The Second I Saw You
“E- Edward…” I started crying again. Was he proposing to me? Right now? Right here? Why would he want to? I didn’t know he loved me.
“It’s not an engagement ring… Yet… It’s more of a promise ring… If we meet again… If faith gives us that such luck, promise me…. You’ll marry me.” He told me, and my sight blurred from the tears falling from my eyes. I couldn’t speak that moment, and he took it as hesitance.
“Please?” he asked me, and I looked up at him, he had tears in his eyes, too.
“You can say no if you want to.” He rushed the words after I still didn’t answer.
Is he joking? As if I’d ever say no to him!
“Yes, Edward. Yes. Oh God, yes!” I whispered in ecstasy and pure joy as he put the ring on my finger with a huge smile. I threw my arms around his shoulders and hugged him tightly, but not too tight to hurt him. I nuzzled his neck and peppered it with kisses. Edward sighed and rubbed my back, but then put his hands on my shoulders and pushed me back.
“Would it be too soon to tell you I loved you from the second I saw you?” He asked, worried. I smiled at him reassuringly.
“It would never be too soon to hear it from you.” His hands were still on my shoulders, and suddenly, his expression turned from happy to conflicted.
“Moira… I’ve just thought… It might take a while to see each other again…” He looked at my lips and back at my eyes. Oh! No… He wouldn’t want to…
