T H E      O F F E R E D      S T U D I E S
      De studenten kiezen één bachelor van de lijst hieronder, hun ''hoofdstudie''. Er is een vrije keuze of de leerling een minor wil doen in een ander onderwerp van de onderstaande lijst. Elke studie duurt minimaal 4 jaar. In het tweede jaar kan er een minor vrijwillig worden gekozen en die duurt verplicht dus ook 3 jaar. Als je in je voorgaande jaren vakken niet goed hebt afgerond, kan de studie ook 5 of 6 jaar duren (zoals een normaal universitair systeem)

STUDIES
      1. Medical studies with a twist
      1.1 Poisonous Plants in Medicine > Met basiskennis van de medicijnenstudies bij ''normies'', maar hier leren studenten ook hoe planten gebruikt kunnen worden bij dit verhaal, sinds de magische werking van de natuur vaak bij normale artsen wordt vergeten of niet geloofd. Geleerd wordt hoe oude civilisaties ooit ook deze planten met een ''magische werking'' gebruikten in helende rituelen en hoe we deze nu nog steeds kunnen gebruiken voor helende doeleinden. Inclusief scheikunde dus, veel van deze lessen worden dan ook gegeven in the greenhouse.
      1.2 Monstrous Operation & Resurrection > zoals Frankenstein. Meer gericht op de chirurgische hoek. Het heeft nog steeds de basis medicijnen kennis van de ''normies'', maar je leert hier ook hoe je iemand kan doen herrijzen met een ander brein bijvoorbeeld. Een beetje bloederiger... This study also includes Mortuary Science. Mortuary science is the study of deceased bodies, also including receiving in-depth knowledge of the funeral service industry.

      2. A Dream Within a Dream
      2.1 Poe-Writing > De school is vernoemd naar een gedicht van Edgar Allan Poe, dus natuurlijk worden er creatieve schrijflessen gegeven. Deze studie is perfect voor toekomstige auteurs, gedichtenschrijvers of toneelschrijvers zoals Shakespeare!
      2.2 The Living Dead Art Forms > Studie gericht op kunst, kunst maken, maar ook kunst kunnen geven. Alle kunstvormen worden hier behandeld, waarbij vooral beeldende kunst het hoofdonderwerp is. Mensen met deze studie worden vaak zelf kunstdocent, maar beginnen soms ook hun eigen attelier met donkere, horror kunst...
      2.3 Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! > Acteren, theater, zang en dans. Deze studie is voor degene die houden van de spotlight en dromen van een plekje op het podium. Deze studie focust zich helemaal om leerlingen voorbereiden op een leven in theater.
      2.4 Coffin-Fashion > This study focuses on fashion. Sewing, cutting and working with different fabrics, from making dresses to suits and tankinis. The students of Nevermore are extensively prepared for future fashion shows and how they can one day lie beautifully in their coffin.
      2.5 Toy Design> Grew up playing with GI Joes but never grew out of it? We have just the right college degree for that! A bachelor’s in designing toys will teach you the ins and outs of this multi-million dollar industry. Classes range from child psychology to engineering to digital design so that you are armed with the skills to design toys that children will enjoy playing with. Who knows: maybe you’ll design the next Frankenstein-Barbie or Chucky-doll!

      3. The Ways of the Weird
      3.1 A Surprising Combination (Sociocultural anthropology) > Sociocultural anthropology is a term used to refer to social anthropology and cultural anthropology together. It is one of the four main branches of anthropology. Sociocultural anthropologists focus on the study of society and culture, while often interested in cultural diversity and universalism. This also includes cultural diversity between ''outcasts'' and ''normies'' and how they see each other in our current society.
      3.2 Not-Ordinary History > De geschiedenis, zoals deze ook wordt gegeven aan de ''normie'' beschaving, maar deze heeft speciale vakken gericht op ook de geschiedenis van ''outcasts''. Denk hierbij aan opdrachten over bijvoorbeeld de witch-trails en de evolutie van lycanthropie door de jaren heen. Deze vakken worden gegeven vanuit de blik van een ''outcast'' en niet de westerse beschaving.
      3.3 Folkore Studies > We've all heard the phrase “That's just a myth”. And we’ve also no doubt heard phrases like it with myth swapped out for legend or fairy tale. These words are all often used as synonyms for fiction or falsehood in everyday English conversation. Yet scholars active in folklore studies use the terms quite differently. To folklorists, each is a different category of folk narrative. And to the categories of myth, legend, and fairytale - called genres by folklorists - we can add many more, including ballad, fable, and tall tale. We can also add genres rooted in belief - ritual, superstition, charm, and curse, among others - and we can add genres rooted in material culture and performance, like traditional foodways and traditional music, respectively. Each genre encompasses a wide variety of expressive culture, but folklorists understand that genres themselves can be imperfect methods of categorization and strive to understand the nuances of everything they study. Folklore Students study legends, myths, stories and things that are seen as “fiction”, to find out a deeper meaning behind societies and how much they valued their folklore.
      3.4 Vampire: Science, Sexuality and Alterity in Acient and Modern Culture > Deze studie focust zich op Vampire Studies. Met deze studie kan een leerling alles leren over vampieren. De geschiedenis en mythen met bekende figuren bijvoorbeeld, maar ook zitten er biologisch gerichte vakken bij. Sinds vampieren niet behoren tot de “levenden” of de “doden” krijgen de leerlingen een apart vak gericht op vampierbiologie. Ook zit er een vak bij hoe vampiers worden gezet in de media, in series zoals Twilight en The Vampire Diaries.

4. Outlaws (Rechten) > Rechtenstudies, met de basiskennis van de ''normies'', maar met ook een gedeelte over verschillende regeervormen met opdrachten over bijvoorbeeld de Franse Revolutie dat leidde tot het expressieve gebruik van de guillotine.
5. Economy for Mummies (Economie) > Economie, met weinig verschil met andere universiteiten buiten Nevermore. Deze wordt alleen gegeven met andere outcast-leerlingen.

      6. Biology
      6.1 Cryptozoology > Cryptozoology is a pseudoscience and subculture that searches for and studies unknown, legendary, or extinct animals whose present existence is disputed or unsubstantiated, particularly those popular in folklore, such as Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster, Yeti, the chupacabra, the Jersey Devil, or the Mokele-mbembe.
      6.2. Lycanthropy: Mental Illness, Supernatural Beliefs & Folklore > Unlike vampires and zombies, a werewolf's circulatory system and body temperature remain largely unchanged from when they were human—aside from a drastic increase in organ size and blood volume to supply its larger body mass. And although it is comparatively rapid throughout the transformation process, fully-grown werewolves experience a decreased resting heart rate of around 40-50 bpm (similar to that of a large bear). This is something you can learn at Nevermores Lyncantrophy Studies. Mostly the studies will focus on biology of the werewolves themselves, but also those of prey animals. It also looks at how people view werewolves and the "lyncanthropy syndrome" in psychology, where one thinks he or she is a werewolf, but is not.
      6.3 Ordinary Biology? > Dit is de basisbiologie studie, zoals deze ook wordt gegeven aan ''normie'' universiteiten, met was buitengewone aspecten eraan toegevoegd. Er zit een beetje vampier-biologie, een beetje weerwolf-biologie et cetra bij in een apart vak, maar het focust zich meer op het worden van een bioloog in de rest van de samenleving.
      6.4 Astrobiology > Astrobiology is the study of life in the universe, and it’s one of the fascinating majors you can study. This interdisciplinary field combines astronomy, biology, chemistry, and geology to examine the origin and evolution of life on Earth and elsewhere in the cosmos. If you’re interested in exploring some of the big questions about life and its place in the universe, this may be your major. Does extraterrestrial life exist? What is the future of life on Earth?These are some of the questions you will be answering in an astrobiology course. Astrobiology combines mathematics, physics, biology and planetary science to also seriously explore the possibility of alien life.
      6.5 Herbology > Herbology was the study of magical plants and fungi. Outcasts and now normies who specialised in this field were known as Herbologists. The study of Herbology encompassed a vast array of topics, ranging from the mundane to the magical. Herbologists explored the growth patterns of magical plants, their preferred habitats, cultivation techniques, and the effects of magical properties on their surroundings. They also studied the uses of these plants in potion-making.

      7. Centre of Attention (Media Studies) > Je krijgt kennis over en diverse theoretische inzichten in de manier waarop verschillende mediaplatformen opgebouwd zijn, hoe ze werken en hoe ze zich tot elkaar verhouden, hoe mediasystemen politiek en economisch onderbouwd zijn, en hoe patronen in het gebruik, de productie en de inhoud van media zich ontwikkelen en veranderen. Je leert verschillende wetenschappelijke onderzoeksmethoden toe te passen en kritisch te reflecteren op diverse onderwerpen. Bovendien maak je kennis met de beroepenvelden die te maken hebben met media en ontwikkel je de professionele vaardigheden die je in mediagerelateerde stages en banen nodig zult hebben.
      8. Snooping Wolf (Journalism) > Jij leert wat nieuws is en hoe je dat deelt met je publiek. Tijdens de studie journalistiek leer je verhalen maken en informatie delen. Je bent kritisch en zoekt een onderwerp tot op de bodem uit. Jouw verhaal deel je op allerlei manieren: in een artikel of interview, in een tijdschrift of op tv.

      9. The Studies Of Thoughts and Feelings
      9.1 Psychology > The science of psychology benefits society and enhances our lives. Psychologists examine the relationships between brain function and behavior, and the environment and behavior, applying what they learn to illuminate our understanding and improve the world around us. The Bachelor of Psychology is an accredited undergraduate coursework degree that will build your specialisation in in psychology, studying topics like behavioural neuroscience, social psychology, personality theory, perception, intelligence, mental health and developmental psychology.
      9.2 Animal Psychology > Animal psychology, often known as Comparative Psychology, is a multidisciplinary study that analyses animals' behaviour and cognitive processes. This field's philosophy is derived from several related fields of study. Ethology, General Psychology, and Evolutionary Biology are among the topics of investigation.
