    Ik wilde je de link sturen van het hoofdstuk uit Irenes verhaal, maar het zit niet in de herschrijving. Anyway de context is (volgens mij) Ethan (bestie van Samuel en broer van Naeve) die er doorheen schreeuwt omdat hij pissed is dat ze zich aangeboden heeft in het jaar dat Samuel zou gaan ipv het jaar erna zoals een normaal persoon gedaan zou hebben

    Letterlijk waar Dante en ik het net nog over hadden, want de logica om überhaupt te wachten was bij Adey en Cabe ook ver te zoeken.

    Dit is vm waarom ik Adey en Cabe in de herschrijving 18 heb gemaakt en ergens een opmerking tussemdoor gegooid heb over hoe wild de Beroepscultuur in D1 is dat je als besties naar de Spelen kan gaan en niemand daar van opkijkt :') "ja natuurlijk bied je je alsnog aan als je vriend ook gaat, je laat je kans gewoon niet schieten"

    this is what i wrote to dante: They didn't have to betray each other, but the way D1 has made the Games into a battle for glory, being propagandised by the capitol so much that they're not even willing lambs led to slaughter, but enthusiastic ones who fight each other for the chance to be sacrificed by the government has something poetic in it. They didn't have to betray each other and they probably never would have if born in a different world. but this world told them the only thing that mattered was winning the games, and they found allies in each other because of that, and thus were made each others executioners
    his is the way to glory and she and Cabe both want it. Sure they could alternate, but how would they know who's really the best? Who's really the victor? Who's the person who succeeded at the challenge set for them by the capitol? They trained together, ate together, learned together. Of course they go into the games together. It's what bound them together and what's going to finally break them apart. And it's dumb and stupid and didn't have to be this way, and they are dumb and stupid for thinking this isn't going to be as brutal and horrifying as it's going to be. But what do they know? They're children, thinking they've got the world in their palm. what do they actually know of death, of murder with your bare hands, of the desperation of manslaughter? they've been lied to and now they're walking to their graves willing victims, never once thinking that that's what they are.
    
    in any way; yes it's so fucking dumb hahahaha. but there's also something to say about it in relation to D1 and how propogandised they are that it's not thát dumb. if they were D5 or lower, yeah, fucking idiots. but these are winners. victors. they never thought they'd be anything other than that.

    Ja eerlijk, that makes a lot of sense. Het is een hele goede manier om de mindset van de Beroeps uit te leggen en de worldbuilding van Panem te verbreden naar de Beroepsdistricten. Want met voldoende propaganda voelt het super logisch
