21. Dating

Ik hou van mijn leven ook al ben ik dood. Mary en ik zijn gisteren naar het bos geweest. Ik had een mooie openplek gevonden en daar had ik de piano naar toegebracht. Toen we aankwamen zag ik eerst haar blik verstarren. Ik wou me mal verontschuldigen toen ze de piano zag en er een glimlach over haar gezicht verspreiden.
Ik pakte haar hand en samen liepen we naar de piano. Met een zwaai zetten ik haar op piano en ging op de kruk zitten. Mary trok haar wenkbrauwen op ze wist niet niet dat ik na onze laatste piano les hard heb zitten oefenen. 'Deze is voor uw mevrouw.' Ze glimlachte en gaf me daarmee de moed om mijn handen op de toetsen te leggen. Zachtjes begon ik de begin akoorden te spelen. Glimlachend keek ik haar weer aan en begon te zingen

Ik keek op en zag dat Mary tranen ik haar ogen had. Verbaasd stond ik op om ze weg te vegen maar ze hield me tegen. 'Ik hou van jouw.' met grote natte ogen keek ze me aan terwijl een warm gevoel door mijn borst omhoog kroop. 'Ik hou ook van jou. En voordat ik wist wat ergebeurde had Mary me op de piano getrokken. 'Echt waar?' fluisterde ze. Terwijl ik knikte wist ik dat ze me nog steeds niet geloofde. Voorzichtig pakte ik haar kin beet en trok haar hoofd dichterbij. Heel even gaf ik mezelf de kans om in haar twinkelende ogen te kijken. Toen sloot ik ze en drukte een zachte kus op haar lippen.
