Hier verandert alles, maar het zal lijken alsof er niets verandert.

Bye! See you in a week! What?!” “No parties!” my parents shout out of the window of their car. If they would only know. “No! Bye!” and they are gone. I am going away too, with a few of my old classmates. Since we graduated we have travelled a lot. We graduated about half a year ago, I think. After graduation we went on vacation to celebrate. On this vacation we became a group of friends instead of just friends in class. We decided that we wanted to see more of the world before we went to University. It's a group of six. Four amazing guys and two girls, of which I am one.

I rush to pack. I have not packed jet because my parents don't know that I am going away, again. Lately they have been a pain in the ass. The two most discussed topics were safety and starting a study. About safety, you must have heard about those two plane crashes. As group we decided never to fly with DLA (Danger Love Air). And ofcourse they keep nagging me about finally staring a study. I say that it’s not possible halfway the year. They say that I should be exploring my options. I am exploring the world!

“Two swim suits. All my clothes. Oh crap!” I run towards a pile of dirty clothes. And: “Yes, of course. Great.” My best shirt and trousers are dirty. “Never mind. I don’t need them anyway.” Maybe you have noticed, but I talk to myself when I am alone. I am taking my biggest suit case. I always pay extra, because my suitcase is always too heavy. But so is Ellekes. By now I am almost finished packing. Ding…Dong… I run to the window and see Sven’s red car. I run down stairs and open the door.

“Hey Sven. How are you?” I get a hug from the guy and he says: “Hey Tamara,” that is me: “I hear you are already talking English.” I forgot to mention, we are Dutch. “Hey! I am talking English too!” I give the second guy a hug and say: “That is great Koen. Really cool. Come in you guys. What do you want to drink?” “I thought we were just picking you and Elleke up?” “Then you should've been here at eleven. It is 10 o’clock.” Sven raises his hand and says: “Guilty.” “Of what?” “I told Koen we were supposed to be here at half past 10 and that we might get stuck.” “That isn't very nice. If you would have told him than…” “Hey guys. I still don’t get it,” Koen says. I explain: “It is a Sunday morning. There is never much traffic on a Sunday morning. And we agreed on eleven o’clock, al usual, but Sven told you that we agreed on half past ten.” “You idiot!” Koen says to Sven: “We are here an Hour early. I could have been waking up right now! Nooo, we needed to go earlier, I had to wake up an hour early!” “Koen! Cool down. I still don’t know what you guys want to drink.” “Nothing,” Koen says snippy. Sven says: “Do you have coffee?” “You know where to find all the stuff you need, make it yourself. I will go upstairs to pack my last things.” Koen gets up and says: “I'll help you.”
