Dear stranger,
I see you have found my letter. Obviously you were curious about the content or you wouldn’t have opened it. Though it is generally known people tend to react to: ‘read me!’.
So, here is the thing. The reason why I wrote this letter to you (there are a few ways to respond to this. Don’t worry, I’ll explain further on in the letter). But the reason why I wrote to you is…
This might sound a bit weird, I promise there will be an explanation for this, but I need someone. Someone needs to know my store, needs to listen to (or read) it, needs to respond to it. Without knowing my name.
It’s like, this person knows everything about me, and yet doesn’t know me at all… For he or she doesn’t know my name.
I need to be able to talk to someone, because I don’t really have that someone anymore.
In return I could be that person for you too. No pressure though, it is completely voluntary.
So, there are a few ways to react to this letter…:
1) You are not interested at all. If this is the case, please put my letter back into the envelope you found it in and throw it into the wind. It’ll carry the letter to someone who might be interested.
2) You are interested in ‘listening’ to me. If so, please respond by sending a letter to the PO-box-address below saying “I’ll listen”. And include your own address or a PO-box so I can reach you.
3) You, like me, need a stranger to talk to as well. Maybe there is something on your mind which you can’t really share with the people around you. For it might hurt their feelings. Don’t worry, I won’t track you, nor will I share your story’s. It will all be kept safe. We won’t mention our names to each other. We will be completely anonymous.
If this is the case, do the same as no 2. Except, instead of writing “I’ll listen” please just write “yes!”
I do hope we’ll find trust and confidence within each other.
Dear stranger, I look forward to your response.
yours truly
