Chapter One
Chapter one.
ZOË POV
“Zoë...” someone whispered in her ear. “Ohh ZoZo.” Zoë growled softly by hearing that annoying nickname. “God dammit Zoë, just wake up!” and with those words she got grabbed by her legs en pulled out of her bed.
“What the hell Amy!? I could have break my neck!” Zoë yelled at her best friend. “Well you didn’t. And I got you out of bed now didn’t I?” Asked Amy with triumph. Zoë grumbled. “What are you even doing in my room?” “Well it’s already half past seven and when I got her your dad said you were still down, so I thought I used my Amy powers to get you up and get you ready for the first day of our senior year!” Amy almost cheered the last few words. Zoë chuckled lightly at the enthusiasm of her friend.
It’s not that Zoë didn’t feel excited about senior year, but she just had other things on her mind today. Today, eight years ago, her mom got abducted and she, her dad and the police still have no clue about what happened or where she is. The only thing they knew is that she got abducted by a guy who was watching her for a long time, this they knew because of what he said to her when it happened. The police kept investigating the case for over three years, but gave up when they didn’t had any clues on her whereabouts. Her dad however never gave up. He still has a room full of articles, pictures and the report of the police of the case. He still has the hope she is alive and will be home one day. Zoë on the other hand has given up hope five years ago, just like the police did. Now she just tries to move on with her life and pushing that horrible day, eight years ago, behind her.
“Hello, earth to Zoë!” Amy said, while waving her hand before Zoë’s eyes. Zoë blinked a couple of times. “Did you even heard what I said?” “Eh.. Something about school?” Zoë guessed while picking some clothes out of her closet. “Nice try ZoZo, but no, well it has something to do with school, but it’s not something that will take place on school and-“ “Just tell me what you were saying please.” Zoë interrupted the gibberish of her friend. “Well there will be a back to school party this Friday and I would really, really, really, love to go.” Amy squeaked. “Well, go then.” Zoë said dryly, putting on her clothes and some makeup. “Yeah I will go, but I want you to go with me!” Zoë sighed. She really didn’t liked those high school parties. Not because she wasn’t popular or something, but just because she really didn’t like people who are out of control because they’re drunk or horny. “You know I don’t like those parties Amy. Plus my dad would never let me go. You know how he gets this time a year.” Amy sighed. “I know Zoë and I wouldn’t have asked if this wasn’t so important.” “How is a high school party important exactly?” Zoë asked while putting a messy bum on top of her head. “Because this will be the last back to school party of high school, the last party before we are officially adults and my chance to finally make a move on David. And you know I need your help for that!” Amy yelled. Zoë sighed. She knew her friend would never let this one go if she just didn’t at least make an effort to be allowed to go. “Fine..” Zoë sighed. “I will ask my dad but I can’t make any promises.” Before she knew it Amy had her trapped in a suffocating hug squealing in her ear.
