Opie knew he had it in the minute he saw her. The minute their eyes met in the clubhouse, he knew. It didn't matter that he was fitting what. He figured out to be her best friend. It mattered that she was the only one of her friends who actually had the nerve to stand up to him and his brothers, the Sons of Anarchy. To him, the one who had a bad temper ever since Donna died. To him, who didn't care what other people thought or said. To him who was, for the first time since Donna, feeling something deep inside himself that made him feel weird. The feeling that was actually caring about this girl he barely even knew.

Sitting on one of the picnic tables outside the clubhouse, Opie tried to concentrate on his conversation with Chibs, but failed miserably. Why in the world did he agree to go? Why couldn't he just tell her to get lost like he would with every other sweetbutt? It were her big beautiful blue eyes, and the fact she wasn't a sweetbutt at all. Hailey was sweet, caring and didn't throw herself at every Son she met. What the hell was he thinking? Was he going soft over her, a girl? Especially the sister in law of his best friend. God, what was he going to do about this?

Opie smoothed out the black button up shirt he decided to wear under his cut. Looking around the place, he finally saw Hailey. Only this Hailey looked like a goddess. It's funny, but this time Opie actually cared about the impression he made. Walking up to Hailey, he slowly let himself lean into the conversation. She said something about al of the guys there being jerks. Opie thought he said something like thanks, but he couldn't really remember, because she smiled at him. For that moment, he couldn't help but think that her smile was just for him. For just that moment, Opie could let his walls down and be his true self.

Opie stood at the back of the place when everyone had started dancing. Most of the people were now drunk, not caring about how stupid they looked when they were dancing, just enjoying themselves. But not Opie. He heard that one of his Tacoma brothers, a young member, had taking a liking to Hailey. Opie knew that he didn't stand a change now, since who wouldn't go for the well built Tacoma member. Thinking about leaving Opie took on last look at the dance floor, and saw Hailey standing in the middle. She looked like she was searching for someone, and then she let her eyes fall on him. It was like the moment before when Hailey had smiled at him. Opie watched as she made het way to him and held out her hand. "I was thinking; that maybe we could get that dance now Ope. I mean, if you still want to." Opie couldn't help but smile. Taking her hand he led her into the dance floor. When their hands met, Opie, for the first time since Donna, got that fluttery filling in his stomach. At that very moment Opie knew why he was amazed by this girl. It was because he loved her.
